Nivemus defeated in Kazakh 29 November 1013
Today a battle took place in the city of Kazakh which resulted in the Obsidian Islanders winning against the Nivemite invaders. Nivemus has successfully stormed the city as reported by this paper on the 20th of November and it's uncertain whether they had attempted a takeover or what had followed that victory. The Obsidian Islanders as seen today in regional news clearly outmatched the Nivemus army in strength something that has been lacking from OI since the beginning of the conflict. This will undoubtedly slow Nivemus down who have been making steady progress in taking away OI territories surrounding Kazakh.
Sirion Defeat in Meuse
Yesterday the Sirion army which had been defending Caligus lands was defeated in Meuse after a failed attempt to defeat Perdanese forces there. The Sirion army which performed a two turn move was defeated very clearly by the Perdanese army in the region. Part of the Perdanese success was due to a last minute reinforcement of the region by Perdan's heavy cavalry army. Unfortunately for Caligus Perdan was left with much of it's mobile force and now will be at the mercy of the triple alliance until Sirion can return to the field. This will be a substantial journey from Meuse to Avamar and back.
Death of Intarex Tibro
According to Ados Tibro a priest in the church of humanity his broth Intarex Tibro was slain in battle recently by rogue forces. Intarex Tibro was the duke of Xavax and responsible for the large succession at the order of King Furious of Armonia earlier this month. Intarex Tibro had been instrumental in bringing the Church of Humanity into Armonia and was present at Armonia's creation and it's fall. He will surely be mourned as a hero by many realms. Nobles of Perleone and Armonia talked together to mourn the duke.
In other news Edward Anthony of Westmoor's funeral is to be held tomorrow in Westmoor city. Deklan Fuor has taken up the responsibility of organizing the event.

Edward Anthony Mercer murdered! 27 November 1013
Sir Edward Anthony the count of Troyes has bee struck down by his own knight Dromo Balthazar in a duel to the death. Sir Edward wrote to the Lord Justice Gregor the day before to explain that matters had come to a head with his knight and that the two would be crossing swords in a fight to the death. Unfortunately it was Count Edward that was struck down and an investigation is under way to try and work out what happened. Sir Edward has been involved in a number of duels in the past with nobles of other realms.
Caligus Victories
Caligus recently won a number of battles against Perleone and Fallangard. Perleone recently entered into the war against Caligus to support it's allies Perdan and Fallangard. Sirion has been securing Caligus' western front from Perdan while the Caligan army moved south to break off a takeover in Leibo. With these victories there may yet be hope for Caligus especially if Sirion can have similar success on it's own front. To add to Fallangard's troubles the region of Igno today also switched sides to Caligus.

Perdan and Sirion at war! 21 November 1013
King Nightmare today declared war on the Republic of Sirion after they intervened on Caligus' behalf and marched on a large militia encampment at Scio. The Perdanese army has yet to finish refitting in their capitol but king Nightmare has already declared war on the Republic claiming that if Sirion is now fine with entering Perdanese lands then Perdan will have no qualms about entering Sirion lands later on in the war. Sirion and Caligus have amassed a very large joint force but the question remains on whether or not it will be enough to beat Perdan. While this victory was scored in the west of Caligus Fallangard won another victor in the south in Leibo. The question going round everyone's minds in the ECDA is how strong a force will come pouring out of the gates of Partora?
With Sirion partaking offensively against Perdan it makes Caligus' odds look much better although nothing is guarantied at this stage. Sirion will have a very long refit time when it does have to return and during that time plenty of damage can be done by both Perdan and Fallangard who will have breakneck refit speeds. If Caligus has any intention of winning this war then they need to make the time that Sirion is in the field really count for something.

News from Nivemus General 18 November 1013
As we all know the war is progressing in the south with Perdan recently claiming Scio to the collection pot from Caligus. Word down the grapevine is that Sirion may be moving to support it's ally Caligus down in the south. In the deep south Perleone recently took the rogued formerly Armonian region of Enubec giving them a clear line of regions from one side of the continent to the other. Surely that makes war with Eponllyn one day unavoidable?
Anyway back on topic, Nivemus' Stratarchos Brock Ketchum sent us this update on the war in the north.
We are doing fine in the north. Our goal is to reclaim Kazakh Peninsula is on track with the taking of the two regions. Though our recent defeat in Kazan battle taught us not to be over complacent.
Kazan is the main front line between both realms Obsidian Islands and Nivemus as you may notice from many battles fought here. OI tries to make an attempt to catch us off guard in Kazan region recently with their many false movements from Stora. Good strategy I must admit. Whoever military leaders from OI that come out with this strategy, should be praised for this stratagem. We are glad to meet such a good honorable match in OI. Last but not least, we hope both neighboring realms can be friend in the future when the dust has settled down.

Caligus in trouble? 16 November 1013
Fallangard, who's friendly association with Perdan has developed ever since Perdan supported the new realm after it's split from Caligus, has declared war on the realm it was born out of. They have struck a blow into the region of Leibo defeating either Peasants or Caligus forces in the region. Fallangard has been anxious to gain new lands for some time now especially after it's hopes in the south were dashed after Xavax's succession into Perleone lands. There hasn't been any word that this newspaper has picked up from Caligus' king Albion. It is suspected that he may be ill, which if true will compound Caligus' problems even more.

Allegiance changes in the south 15 November 1013
The region of Akesh Temple has changed hands to Perdan after the politicians were bribed and some murdered by Perdanese in a coup. With Akesh Temple Perdan now has a clear door into Caligus' east.
In the south the city of Itorunt changed hands to Eponllyn. There's still no news on the political tensions between Eponllyn and Perleone. The Armonian nobles seem split on which side to join. Interestingly enough Queen Sophie has held onto her position as Queen of Armonia even though she has no territories left and no subjects.

War! 12 November 1013
Nightmaree Aroo the king of Perdan has issued to Caligus a declaration of war on the nation for various food and diplomatic reasons. The full letter can be read on our letters page. Although a formal declaration of war has not yet arrived to all rulers of the continent the message to King Albion of Caligus was very clear in that war was coming to Caligan soil. Shortly after a battle as seen in regional news took place in Winkamus the Caligus region bordering their capital Domus. If Caligus does not have sufficient strength in Domus to defend against Perdan then they could be in big trouble.
Meanwhile in the south Armonia has been completely absorbed mostly by Perleone but also Eponllyn. There has been no recent news from the diplomatic tensions between Perleone and Eponllyn. I'm sure there will be lots more news coming from across the continent so hold onto your horses!

The end of Armonia? 10 November 1013
Today Armonia elected a new Queen Sophie Kelly to the position of ruler over Armonia. Unfortunately for her she may well be known as the last monarch of the realm as all but one regions left Armonian rule within the day. Itor Boss surrendered to the Eponese takeover which was underway while Priotness willingly changed allegiance to the realm of Eponllyn. Armonia's capitol changed sides to the region of Perleone leaving Armonia with the sole region of Aeng. This could well be it for Armonia unless a miracle happens.
Naturally as one might expect things have been heating up on the rulers channel between the kings of Eponllyn and Perleone. It has been rumored that the king of Fallangard has agreed to stay out of the conflict for the time being. King Garin called on King Nigel of Perleone to travel to Itorunt and hand over the city to Eponllyn to which King Nigel responded in as many words "why should I do this?" (see letters page for complete letters). This could well lead to a war between the realms of Perleone and Eponllyn.

The Duchy of Xavax today left Armonia and joined the realm of Perleone! A noble who wished to remain anonymous sent the following message relating to the situation:

It has become evident Armonia is soon to be no more, and as such, I was ordered by the king of Armonia to secede. It was decided the Kingdom of Perleone was the best choice for the nobility and peasants of Xavax. Your Kingdom has a reputation for respect noble conduct, and we of Xavax have much to offer, not least of all our loyalty. Right now we are in a hard way due to war and starvation, but once we rebuild we shal be a productive member of the Kingdom.

As can be seen on the map posted above the four regions comprising the duchy of Xavax are now part of Perleone. This cuts Fallangard off from Armonia and temporarily prevents takeovers. There hasn't been any word yet from the rulers of the realms involved.

The war does not go well, as any current map can show...which is pretty much as expected to be honest. I had hoped that the islands would have done better but against a larger force it was little else but hope. While it hurts to see the land I lead the OI forces into to take back when I was still the realm's Shogun being taken from us in this maner, but at least at the end of it all the islands will have regained some of it's lost honor by standing on our own and accepting a one on one battle with Nivemus.

News from Fallangard 2 November 1013
After some conversation with fellow ECDA member Brutus Bhranthan over letters we've got some news from the war down south. Brutus is the high marshal of Fallangard and responsible for Fallangard's armies on the battlefield. He generously allowed this paper to be privy to some interesting facts relating to the current situation. This letter came in just before the most recent battle in Ejarr Puutl.

Some news that i might share is that our King has been horribly wounded on the way to Enubec 5 days ago.
We have no conclusion on his health, he had been in a critical state for 4 days and now seems to be stable.
Our King is strong yet there is no sign of recovery yet.
This also explains Fallangards lack of reaction towards Armonia's proposal and other diplomatic activity.
This means Fallangard will pick its new King.
Although this will most likely not change much for the realm general direction, our King is the founding father of this realm and his family tied deeply into the rule over our lands.
His and his family's claim is the strongest.
Unfortunately his only Relative, Sir Eleran, has also been wounded ever since, protecting his uncle.
We will know more in three days.
Concerning the war, Fallangard has successfully looted several Armonian regions, including Itor Boss, Enubec and Betholm.
Armonia has thus far attacked Ejaar Puutl once with a great minority of troop strength and is doing it again right now.

What would be interesting to find out is how many of those troops in Ejarr are militia and how many are actual soldiers or peasants. If those were all troops then Eponllyn is making a very good showing for this war. Secondly if those were all troops and Armonia new they were there why did they order the attack? 500 men is quite a substantial difference in a battle.
Next I'll try and write to OI to see what they're up to. I haven't heard any news out of them lately. They had some small success last week if people remember that battle which according to the peasants involved Perdan. Upon further investigation though that Perdan unit consisted of 3 archers and was not a deciding factor in that battle. Nivemus followed that up with another battle which went in their favor so really there is no reason to believe that the north western war is changing tides. Nivemus is still making fast pace in conquering the peninsular. It remains to be seen how much militia is in Kazakh the old Sultanate capitol and whether or not they will be able to breach that any time soon.
