Chapter VI
Many days had gone by and Avalon had not been in a fight. The capture of the fort left Luz de Bia crippled. One night at an Avalon fort where Revan and Hector weren’t at, Luz de Bia sends a surprise attack with all the resources it could send. Ares had decided to join the battle. Randomly, he chooses Luz de Bia. With his help, Luz de Bia wins over the fort. Many of these skirmishes stir up the war and it seems that the two forces balance out.
The season turns cold and Persephone returns to the underworld. Hades returns as well with Persephone. Hades must dismiss Hephaestus for there is no need for him to be there. As the two cross Styx and walk up to Hephaesus, Hades speaks, “Hephaestus, my friend, I must ask you to leave for now. I have been reunited with my lover.”
Hephaestus had a nice vacation and decided it was best to return. “Fine, then I will leave. I do have next year, right? I mean, you do want to be with her, right?”
“Yes, I promise you next year. I shall see you later, Hephaesus.”
“Hades, I have one more request.”
“What is it, friend?’”
“Because of my wonderful deed to you I kindly request something of yours.”
“What might that be? Gems? Gold? Silver?”
“I want your helmet, Hades. The first time we met you appeared out of nowhere. I too want to experience that.”
“Well I’m not sure why but I will let you. I’ll let you have it but only until the next time we meet.”
Hephaesus returns to his home with the helmet. The first thing he does is use it to take Ares’ armor. He knew that if Ares didn’t have his armor he wouldn’t go near a battle. But this upcoming battle was one of the greatest and certainly he wouldn’t miss it; Armor or no armor. To get to the heavens, Hephaestus makes the Volcano erupt and lands in Heaven. He puts on the helmet and creeps into Ares’ armory. He finds the armor. He whispers to himself. “Ah yes, my armor, here it is Let’s see how courageous and brave you are without my armor.”
Hephaestus returns to his usual volcano island. He celebrates with the armor he had stolen.
Apollo, still looking for Hephaestus’s body, spots the volcano erupting and gratefully goes to the volcano. He spots Hephaestus celebrating and goes over to talk to him. “Hephaestus, you’r alive!”
“What are you talking about, of course I’m alive.”
Apollo begins to doubt what Hermes had said and becomes frustrated. “Hermes”
Hephaestus asks about the scepter. After all, he hadn’t made it for him and it had craftsmanship as if it were. “What is that scepter you have in your hand?”
“Oh this, this is what I had to resurrect you but since I never needed to resurrect you in the first place, I guess I will return to take care of some business”
“Might I have it? I want to learn from its craftsmanship.”
Apollo was in a hurry to take care of Hermes so he agreed to give him the scepter.
