Arcaea/Military Archives/The War of Sartania's Destruction

During the drawn out war between Arcachon and Sartania, Arcaea had aided the men of the Dark Isle in their religious battle during the Second Ethialan War. This conflict began when Arcaea took a mercanery contract to join in the fight that soon saw half the realms of the Far East brought down upon them and ended in a defeat for Sartania with Orbeh, Obtal and Sasat going over to the victors. The war between the original two belligerants continued.

It was later that Sartania benefited from a resurgence against Arcachon and began retaking regions which had long been in enemy hands, going so far as to almost push the invaders back to their island. In a massive diplomatic blunder however, the Pontifex allowed priests of Sartan to incite the people in Arcaean lands against their rulers. The final straw was when a letter to all of Arcaea's neighbours suggesting an alliance to destroy and partition her was leaked. As a result Arcaea amassed her forces straight after the siege of Topenah to break Sartan's stronghold of Niel. The attack was instantly a devestating success, effectively ending a war that had been one of the defining features of the north for a whole generation.
