Carelia is a monarchy located on the southern side of Atamara. It is bordered by Tara and the Cagilan Empire to the north, Caergoth to the east, and Suville to the south.

Carelian nobles spend their days preparing for their next battle and singing songs of victory over their last. Carelia is a realm in which the brave prosper and the cowardly wither.

Loyal service to the realm and honor in battle are the only ways to claim one of the seats of power. Newer troops leaders will receive the finest tutelage from our veteran nobles. Fresh faces, ready to spill blood in the name of Carelia, are always welcome.

Carelian Culture

Carelia has historically prided itself on being a kingdom of heroes. In recent years, since the absorption of many members of the Ash Sea Islands and the resulting influx of followers of Magna Serpaensism during the First Cagilan Conquest, Carelia's position as a realm where nobles are allowed to practice and encourage any religion they desire has become one of its major cultural cornerstones. Also of import has been the division of power between the monarch and the nobles of the realm.

Carelian History

In 2008, the Cagilan Empire won a war with Carelia, forcing Carelia into a treaty that allowed the Empire temporary control over Carelia's western duchies, and making Carelia an ally of the Empire. This led to Carelia being a member of the Imperial faction in the First Cagilan Conquest, where Carelia gained the western portions of the Ash Sea Islands.

In early 2010, Carelia fought an inconclusive war with Caergoth and Suville over the disposition of temples devoted to Magna Serpaensism within Carelian lands. Soon after that war, King Bartho stepped down and was replaced by Queen Leta, who formed an alliance with Caergoth and Suville (referred to as the Southern Collective) to wage war with the Cagilan Empire as part of the Great Atamaran Revolt.

Carelian Hierarchy

The King: The King is in charge of Diplomatic relations. In matters of a Diplomatic nature, the King's orders supersede all others.

The Judge: The Judge is responsible for maintaining Order in the realm and presides over Trials. On matters of Region Maintenance and Justice, the Judge's orders supersede all others.

The General: The General commands the military of Carelia. The General provides the general stratagy for Carelia's Armies and has direct authority over the Marshals. If disabled, overall strategy falls to the Marshals of the Realm (or their Second in Command if they are unable to serve). If they are disabled then the Queen will assume military command.

The Royal Treasurer: The Royal Treasurer is responsible for food distribution. Any orders given involving the distribution of food supersede all others.

Armies of Carelia

Hammers of Carelia: The Hammers of Carelia are the main offensive arm of Carelia.
Iron Hearts of Carelia: The Iron Hearts are a small, elite force of Carelians that are expected to respond quickly and unquestioningly to changing situations on the front.
Carelian Shields: The Shields are the main defense and police force of Carelia, responsible for maintaining the peace and defending the borders.
Carelian Arms: The Carelian Arms are a team of Courtiers and Traders responsible for maintaining the realm.

Center of Local Authority: The Center of Local Authority consists of the Landed Nobles of Carelia
King's Court: The King's Court replaced the previous senate, and is a body where any interested Carelian can go to discuss affairs of state.
War Council: The war council was formed near the beginning of the Great Atamaran Revolt. Here, the King, General, Marshals, and other interested parties discuss strategy.

Sir Kronos Titans = Royal Hero of Carelia (former King of Carelia) (betrayed the realm with the secession of Nida, later died in a duel to the death)

These names are forever remembered. Their statues are placed in cities to remind them. They are the Legends of Carelia that served in the Lands of Heroes.
