"Living Realms" Category

Please do not create a "living realms" category. This is a redundant category. The "Realms" category contains all living realms. All realms, alive and dead, should have an island category. A semantic query for [[Category:Realms]][[Category:Atamara]] will return all living realms on Atamara. You can check Template:Realms of Atamara, or ask on the forums. Also, please do not make extensive changes to the layout of the categories without first discussing it with a wiki editor.--Indirik (talk), Editor (talk) 05:08, 30 March 2014 (CEST)

No worries, I wasn't married to the idea or anything. As I mentioned in the summary, it was meant as a fix to the query mentioned above (which was returning all realms at the time, though had I simply sat about I could have seen you fix it the correct way instead of adding a bit more work to your plate), so since it's been righted there really isn't a reason for its existence anyways.

That all being said, I do have one sincere question; are there clear guidelines between what is allowed for standard wiki users to edit and which have to be cleared by editors? You say "...please do not make extensive changes to the layout of the categories without first discussing it with a wiki editor." but the only standard "rules" I have found were in the style guide, which doesn't require category edits to be discussed with an editor beforehand so long as they meet those guidelines. I realize that the edit which brought this up still violated those guidelines, but that isn't what you're saying and I want to be clear about where I could step on toes in the future, is all. - Streatim (talk) 05:36, 30 March 2014 (CEST)
