The Saxum family has its origins in Tranquil, amid the chaos caused by the Western Monster hordes pouring out of the sea. The founder of the line, Georgius, was a yeoman chieftain, who was knighted because for his valor in defending his village, as well as others in the region. He choose a gold cross on a black field, super imposed by a Silver Wolf. It is believed he choose the wolf due to his frequent hunting of the canines, and his extreme admiration for the creature. Georgius continued as an un-ambitious country noble, producing only two sons, Giaus and Aloysius. Giaus had four sons. Leonidus, Orion, Perseus, and the youngest, Odysseus. Aloysius had only two, Pericles and Barak.

Leonidus was disowned once he came of age. (See Leonidus) He went on to choose the life a an adventurer. Due to his absence, and because of his efforts to keep the family together in the ensuing struggles of losing the eldest, Orion became the principle heir.

It was Orion that caused the family to step out from the fields of Tranquil, and he quickly became embroiled in the politics of the Swordfell, due to his high idealism, and fierce patriotism. This led him to challenge the traitor Renward Reolding when soon to be rouge, sacked Swordfell's neighbor, Sol, twice. This led to his death. Leaving a young wife and two very young daughters in the care of his friend Alexies Sarkis. It was Orion, for reasons unknown, who changed the Wolf on the family's arms from silver to scarlet. This lead the various units that served under during his five year career to call him 'the Red Wolf' (See Orion)

Perseus migrated to Outer Tilog, in an attempt to spread the family name, and on a quest to defend the weak. Unfortunately, he didn't do his research, and found himself in a realm that didn't give a fig for honor or sacrifice. He quickly challenged that realms system of employing Undead as militia, a practice he considered disgusting and perverse. He became embroiled in multiple skirmishes with the beasts, and was severely injured in the process. He returned home after this, and eventually succumbed to his wounds.

Odysseus set out to Caligus make the family wealth. But became embroiled in the realms wars instead. When Orion was killed, he returned to avenge his brother, but fell ill on the voyage home, and after securing his brother's legacy as much as possible, died.(see Odysseus)

Pericles went to the South Island to win glory purely for himself. But due to a heart condition, died upon his arrival. His cousins didn't really like him anyway.

Barak went to Beluaterra, and in fact served under a Dodger, a family the Saxum disliked as power hungry rouges. His purpose originally was train in arms, with the goal of winning all the tournaments he could, hoping to bring glory to his house. (see Barak)

Winn Shyne, the grandson of Georgius' brother, and therefore not a noble. Winn briefly wandered southern Beluaterra, but kicked the bucket when he accidentally ate poison mushrooms.

With all of the men in the Saxum family dead in one way or another, the fate of the line is uncertain. While it is not doubted that Alexies Sarkis will care for Orion's family, there is still concern that the Legacy of the Red Wolf will fade away.

(ooc, I apologize for any unfinished pages. This is a work in progress. I have left the name of Orion's killer blank, because I can't remember the character's name, or even the family.)
