Rurik family

The Family

The Rurik family hails from Torrents Breath in northern Dwilight. Vladislav Rurik the father of three sons; Vatas, Grigori and Sergei, is a retired merchant of noble blood. Having obtained his own fortune through trade and restored the family's honour after the squandering ways of his father, Olaf, Vlad sent his sons out into the world to restore the family name.

Vatas Rurik left Torrents Breath for the nearby realm of the Libero Empire but died a few days after leaving the family home in mysterious circumstances.

Grigori Rurik

A small bearded man with green eyes and dark hair, Grigori is the middle son of Vladislav Rurik. Known for flowery speech and long-winded talks, Grigori is most often seen riding at the head of his body of mixed infantry, a unit known as the Lonely Skirmishers. When the pen is insufficient he prefers a sturdy one-handed mace. Although he owns a sword, in the heat of combat he opts for the thrill of the swing and exhilarating rush of bones being crushed underneath his beefy arms.

Grigori left Torrents Breath for the far south and the realm of Aurvandil, but shortly after arriving moved on to the Republic of Barca. While there he became student of Brackern of Burgundy, Senator of Rettlewood and took an oath of fealty to him in exchange for an estate. It was after this that Sir Grigori took part in the battle for Twainwood and was elected its first Lord and Senator.
