The Town Hall

You enter The Town hall and are amazed by the fact that everything is structured and clean. When entering you didn't know what to suspect. The least you expected was a true Court of Law with properly dressed Clerc's moving around with scrolls and piles of paper.

You rub your clothes clean, take of your hat and feel suddenly reminded that you are a noble. Then, seemingly out of nowhere a middle aged fat man walks towards you trying to draw your attention.

"A Gentlemen, in my town Hall? What brings you here? Just jumped of the boat aye?"

The though mannered Man, disgustingly laughs.

"Let me show you around!"

For Several minutes long the man shows you the way around the town hall. The building it's self looks rather ugly, It's clearly build with haste and it wasn't as big as one would expect from a Town hall. But still it amazes you that there actually is a real government on this island. There's even a Council Chamber and a Court of Law.

You get interested and ask many questions and the more you ask the more you get to know about the Actual Hierarchy of Madina. The man notices your surprisingly reaction when he explains more and more about the Local Hierarchy.

"You can hardly believe it right?"

You scratch your chin whilst trying to find a subtle way of answering his painful question.

"Well, I must say, based on my knowledge gained the past days, I didn't ever suspect it..."

The man laughs and you wonder what it is that gives that make these people so much in common...

The Founding of the Republic

"Some time ago, hardly a few years, this place was all about saving yer own bottoms, if you had any quarrel, you solve it your way and there was no one who'd stop ya. Off course, a clever noble like you could figure out from the beginning that that wouldn't ever work out and indeed, something went wrong.

Riots on the streets of Madina

On a very dark day, things went wrong, a fight erupted between 2 very influential families of merchants on this island and 2 people got killed. One of them was the leader of a local merchant guild and other was a famous story teller. you can imagine what happened. After weeks of Chaos a handful of men from the first boat that landed here stood up and presented the solution. Two of Them, our brave Sir Abbot 'The Cunning' and Sir Leon 'The harsh' officially installed the Constitution of Madina. They rallied an army and killed everyone who didn't follow there orders from that very day. But as you might have noticed, Abbot was a popular man and thus he faced little resistance.

So, Form that day on, all of these lands fall under the common title of the Isle Republic of Madina and all the people in his group where called it's nobles."

Amazed by his story you reply.

"Republic? Nobles?"

"Yes a Republic, a Hierarchical system just like yours, but with the slightest difference that the Governor and his Landowners or better called Land Lords are the most powerful people on this island and not the ruler".

"What about the nobles, you can't just call everyone a noble?!"

The man laughs loudly, but you have learned to ignore it by now.

"You fool, They where the people who build and established this city in the first place, they deserve to be called nothing less!"

You gulp and impatiently look around you.

"Well than... is there any place in this building where you store your historical documents? or this Constitution you speak of? I am eager to read it threw."

The man rounds up your conversation and tells you where to go. You still have your doubts about this place, but you feel much more comfortable by the fact that there is an actual government in this place.

You now have three options available: You can schedule your departure and leave the island, visit the libary or decide to settle.
What do you do?
A. You decide to leave after all and schedule your departure
B. You decide to visit the library and learn more
