Meginhard grew up in northern Sabadell on Dwilight. His father was a bailiff for the Brenna estate of the D Luffy Family, who would eventually control all of Sabadell. Due to his father's good reputation, Meginhard was appointed his successor, despite a young age of only 14. His stepmother served as his regent and kept taking charge of the estate when Meginhard went on expeditions with his lord. When Marcus D Luffy was instructed to secure northern Sabadell, he tasked Meginhard with building a keep at the junction of the Brenna and the Gelene: the Brennaborg. As a reward for building the keep and his diligent service, Meginhard received the keep and the entire north of Sabadell, thus becoming the first lord of Brennaborg.

Meginhard, like most Sabadellians, is not particularly known for his prowess in battle, but being close to the border, he gained a good reputation for reconnaissance and was noticed for this by the Lord Commander Sparticus II Bathgate, who appointed him vice-marshal. Meanwhile senator Marcus D Luffy, having completed his assignment of securing northern Sabadell, decided to retire and left the management of the region to Meginhard, who continued the militarization by increasing taxes and reorganizing estates to ensure an as large a fighting force as possible. It was during this time that he met the prophetess Severina and converted to Sanguis Astroism.

As the Westgardian borders moved west, Meginhard went with them and was granted Forguthrie. Many faithfull servants followed him and were granted lands among the locals. In honor of the fallen hero, Meginhard started building a keep, which he named the Raphinborg. As the locals did not want the keep to draw attention to the city of Forguther, he build it at a proper distance south of the city. Conflict in Westgard's military command, allowed Meginhard to rise and become Lord Commander. This also earned him the very prestigious fortress at the Shrine of Seeklander.

After the failed invasion of the Mimer Peninsula during the Astrumese Succession War, Meginhard retired and devoted his life to research at the University of Gelene. Here he wrote the Journal of Meginhard, which is used as a manual for the youth.
