There was once a time when the Ash Sea Islands made little effort to maintain copies of treaties. Of course, that was during an era when to do so was so unique that meticulous records helped to undermine your faith in the word of honour of one's enemy or friends. The world moves on however, and the Ash Sea Islands was eventually given a terrible lesson that led to a Royal Proclamation during the first reign of King Doc's Revenge.

Since the day of that Proclamation, every treaty of the Ash Sea Islands was made public for all to see. Such was the Ashlanteans faith in her own word and honour to respect the treaties she signed. Such was their conviction that the Ash Sea Islands would never again fall prey to those who would take advantage of her and so that no noble could claim ignorance of their obligations.

The treaties recorded below are recorded in descending order of the date they were signed.

Ash Sea Islands, Caergoth, Carelia and Tara Treaty (October 20th, 2008)

For the purposes of this writing the term 'Coalition' applies to Caergoth, Carelia and Tara.

  1. Peace between the Ash Sea Islands and the Coalition for six months.
  2. No militia exceeding 1,000 CS is to be allowed in Barnlure.
  3. Any army of Carelia passing through Barnlure must move on within 24 hours of arrival. 'Army' is defined as a combined mobile force of 5,000 CS or greater.
  4. The Ash Sea Islands relinquishes claim to Barnlure.
  5. The Ash Sea Islands relinquishes claim to Aja, Inxi, Mapo and Tichi.
  6. The Ash Sea Islands relinquishes claim to the Southern Island, meaning Wor'ight, Ash'rily, Worav and Veshin.
  7. The Coalition recognizes Hegado, Jauchu, Lerss, Ser'quea and Yacon as sovereign Ash Sea Islands territory.
  8. There shall be no passage for Coalition troops or nobles through Ash Sea Islands regions unless explicit consent of the Monarch of the Ash Sea Islands is given.
  9. There shall be no passage for Ash Sea Islands troops or nobles through Coalition regions without explicit consent of the ruler of the respective realm to be traveled through.
  10. The Ash Sea Islands not to enter any conflict involving the Coalition where they would be on an opposing side for three months from the signing of this treaty.
  11. In the event of taking opposing sides in a third party conflict, relations can be lowered to neutral in order to help allies defensively only. At the end of hostilities, relations must once again be raised to peace.
  12. Ash Sea Islands Priests and Infiltrators should not enter Coalition territory and vice versa. Punishment for first violation is a fine of 50 gold upon the priest/infiltrator in question. A second violation by that priest/infiltrator results in their being banned from their realm. Neither punishment applies in the event that a region lord has invited the priest to preach in their lands.
  13. Caergoth has exclusive rights to Ash Sea Island's surplus food for a price of 30 gold per 100 bushels for six months.
  14. Any violation of this treaty is to be resolved through negotiations within 48 hours, otherwise it is the responsibility of the signatories to enforce this treaty by force and a declaration war on the violating realm.
  15. The Ash Sea Islands and the Coalition shall not permit the passage of another realm's troops through their lands to assault Ash Sea Islands or a member of the Coalition.

Treaty of Rogeshore (April 2nd, 2007)

I. General Terms of Peace

  • A. The realms of RedSpan and Ash Sea Islands will return relations to peace upon the signing of this treaty, and must remain at neutral or above for the duration of it.
  • B. Neither realm will show active aggression against the other for the duration of the treaty. This includes infiltrator action, black market trading and negative priest involvement. Infiltrators are not allowed to enter the opposing parties lands unless they have explicit permission from the opposing monarch.
  • C. Both realms are permitted to assist their allies in defensive capacities against the other, if the need arises.
  • D. RedSpaniard and Ashlantean forces will not enter each other's lands without permission from the opposing monarch. In the case of stray nobles, both realms will try to be understanding as much as possible. However, an unsanctioned gathering of 1500+ CS of either realm's forces in the other's territory will void the intruding realm's claims to Rogeshore entirely. "Territory" refers to any and all regions that a realm is holding at any given time, but not regions they may claim to without title.

II. Regions and Claims

  • A. In return for Rogeshore weekly payments of at least 300 gold will begin two months after the signing of the the treaty and continue until a sum of 7500 gold has been reached. RedSpan must also pay the transaction fees to do this each week. If RedSpan is unable to make a payment in part or in whole, the ruler must give written notice. RedSpan may not miss more than one payment per month. There will be no interest added to the total cost at any time.
  • B. Three months after the signing of the treaty, Rogeshore will be handed over to RedSpan. The Monarch of Ash Sea Islands has a further seven day grace period to handover Rogeshore if he/she is otherwise held up elsewhere. Should more than five days be required RedSpan need not make a weekly payment for that week.
  • C. The successful completion of each weekly payment will be announced along with the current payment total to the rulers of the Southern Federation and the Eastern Alliance by the monarchs of RedSpan and Ash Sea Islands.
  • D. Ash Sea Islands shall hold full claim to Rogeshore until the first payment has been made. Thereafter both Ash Sea Islands and RedSpan will recognise equal claim on Rogeshore until the final payment has been made.
  • E. Should Rogeshore become held by a third party before the end of the treaty, The entire treaty will be declared void. Furthermore neither realm may aid the third party in any way to acquire Rogeshore or the violating party will relinquish all claims to the region.
  • F. Neither realm will lay any claim to regions belonging to the opposite party, beyond Rogeshore, for the duration of the treaty. This includes any additional regions that may be acquired by each party whilst the treaty is active.
  • G. Neither realm will include Rogeshore in any other type of treaty or settlement with another realm, or consciously give it away for the duration of the treaty.

III. Religions

  • A. Priests of RedSpan will not preach or engage in other clerical activities within Ashlantean regions, and priests of Ash Sea Islands will not preach or engage in other clerical actions within RedSpaniard regions. Normal travel through each other's lands will be permitted only if formally approved by the opposing Monarch.
  • B. A gathering of some or all senior members of the religions Magna Serpænsism and Da Way will meet with each other in Rogeshore to attempt to come to an understanding or agreement between religions. The date(s) for this may be specified after the signing of the treaty.

IV. Treaty Duration

  • A. This treaty will be active from it's approval by both parties until thirty days after the final payment on Rogeshore has been made, or until it has been broken.
  • B. Should the treaty be broken by either party, it may be enforced by the other party, and the allies thereof.

Temporary Talerium Alliance

The Purpose of this temporary alliance is for the army of Talerium to use our facilities on their assault against the nation of Abington.

1. Ash Sea Islands reserves the right to terminate our alliance with 7 days notice at any given time, for no valid reason. Vice versa.

2. We will not attack you, however [while you are down South attacking Abington], so don't fret. We may indeed look to dueling each other like you had mentioned in lieu of war many weeks ago, to settle our limited differences. [But fighting x amount of major battles, in the fashion of a 1v1 with no intention of land-gains or lootings, seems more appealing, if and when the opportunity arises]

  • Portions in [] added by Ash Sea Islands for clarification. The rest was submitted to Talerium for approval, and acceptance.
    • Temporary Alliance treaty ended July 31st, 2006, as per agreement
      • Treaty reinstated in August 2006

Good Neighbour Alliance (July 2006)

1. Ash Sea Islands hereby agrees not to invade Carelia for any reason, and Carelia agrees not to invade Ash Sea Islands for any reason.

2. Alliance Status will remain unless it has to be broken to aid an ally DEFENSIVELY, and such aid, would still abide by the standard of the first condition.

3. A return to Alliance status would be made possible once said aid in section 2 is no longer necessary.

3) Citizens of Carelia are not permitted to attack Ash Sea Islands lands from RedSpan lands (both as outlined above) for any reason. This is to protect RedSpan from hosting any battles between Ash Sea Islands and Carelian troops. Any force in excess of 2,000 CS is grounds for Ash Sea Islands to void this agreement.

  • As RedSpan and Carelia are Federation partners, RedSpan reserves the right to help the citizens of Carelia defend their lands from any aggressor. RedSpan will not, however, be participating in any battles or attacks on Ash Sea Islands lands (as outlined above) for the duration of this treaty.
  • Also, if at any point Carelia is diplomatically unable or forbidden to travel through the lands of Tara in pursuit of their war with Ash Sea Islands through no fault of their own, RedSpan, as a Federation partner, will allow Carelia to make use of the region of Ambermel to launch attacks on Ash Sea Islands lands. At that time, clause 3 of the "Travel" section will be removed and replaced with this.

Duration

The Primary Parties hereby agree that this Treaty will remain in effect until:

May this agreement bring peace and friendlier relations to the people of both our realms.

Treaty of Ash'rily

This was an agreement signed between Doc's Revenge and the former King of Abington, Gabriel Bachelor. It was grossly violated by Abington, so it sparked the old war once again in July of 2006.
