Sermon 1: A discourse on the Nature of the Relationship of Gods and Men.

To us mere mortals, the Gods are a force beyond comprehension, something we can't see or touch. However, if you stop to look around you can see the Hand of the Gods in everything we do. The obvious things such as the rain and sun coming from Omorthion have been pointed out over and over (one of my favourites for initiates), however there are subtler signs that get missed in the bustle of our lives.

Flowers in the field are pretty, yet they also a sign from Senith that beauty is anywhere we seek it. Painters see this and it shows in their artwork, the hand of Senith that guides each brush stroke and adds tints to their colours with each combination. Every time we sit to dinner we rarely realise that Omorthion has graced us with his presence once again. The horses that we ride or pull our plows are another sign of the prosperity that Omorthion's Hand has given us. Without horses we would not travel as far as we do and all work in the field would have to be done by hand and productivity would not be as great as it is now. Every time we head into battle we are shown the Hand of Adghar, in the order and discipline that our armies display. Every village, town or city we enter we should be reminded of Adghar's Hand bringing us our knowledge of architecture and design.

As you can see, everything around us has been given to us by the Gods, but if we are forced to see everything as a miracle we will have no time left to do anything, whether it is to plant the fields or make sure the regions we have been entrusted are safe from bandits. So how do we reconcile this new found knowledge with our daily lives? We must simply acknowledge that the Gods are revealed by everything in our lives and put aside time every day to pray to them and thank them for their continued influence. Without them our lives would be harder than we could possibly imagine and we would live in perpetual spiritual darkness.

Consider what you have read here and I pray that you see the Hand of the Gods every day in one form or another.

May the Gods walk with you all as you journey down the Path of Life.

Sermon 2: A discourse on the Duality of Gods of the Way

As should be understood by all who worship the Adgharhin, the basic concept of our beliefs is Balance in all things. However, when we examine the writings on the nature of the Gods, we are shown only their good side and not the balanced aspects. In this discourse I shall attempt to shine a light on the Gods in such a way as might not be immediately apparent, yet connects with our knowledge of Balance.

Adghar: The Builder, Lawmaker and highest of all Gods. He casts down the wicked and brings strength to our endeavours. With the forces of Strength and Order he has given us our physical civilisation and turned our eyes towards the Path of the Way. Yet when too much strength is applied, or Order is too strictly adhered to, Chaos and Death result. This is where another God, previously known as Tark, found his place within the pantheon. True to their natures, Adghar and Tark battled and Tark was cast out, but he found new followers and to this day still seeks to end the reign of Adghar, but it was the actions of Adghar that initially gave Tark the impulse to act and it is from this interaction that the Balance is preserved.

Omorthion: The Reaper of Grain, The Bountiful. It is from his domains of Earth and Sky that we have the means to survive. Without Omorthion our fields would not flourish, our rivers would not teem with succulent fish and our herds would be weak and tiny. Yet this does not mean that our fields are always producing to excess, nor our plates overflowing with the bounty of the land and sea. As those on the mainland know too well, often the rains do not fall in time to provide the best harvest, if they do fall at all. This is not because Omorthion is evil, or angry, though sometimes this may be the case. Often it is just to maintain Balance and promote trade between regions and realms. Without a necessary surplus in some places and shortfall in others our markets would be stagnant and communication between Bankers and Rulers would be deemed unnecessary at best.

Senith: The Lover, The Artist, The Mother. Without Senith our lives would be dull, this we know. But of the three major Gods Senith is the most notably dual, for she is born of both Pleasure and Pain. The rose is beautiful, yet the unwary fails to notice its thorns until they are deep within the skin. As with love, either accepted or unrequited, there can be no mistaking that both pain or pleasure can be the result, or as many would realise, a mixture of the two. This is not a bad thing, just another demonstration of Balance within the nature of the Gods.

I ask that you consider what you have read today and I pray that you seek Balance within your selves as seen in the nature of the Gods of the Adgharhin.

May you feet tread the Path without trepidation, for the Gods watch over you and guide your steps in their wisdom.
