The County of Prevos
Geography
Prevos is a region of rolling plains and low hills located between the Great Creasur Forest and the river Illien, part of the great plains that reach from the sea to the Dragonhome Mountains in the north. Even though Prevos is far north of the ocean, the sea still influences the land, giving Prevos mild winters and not too hot summers, making the land an excellent place for agriculture.
Prevos can be divided in three general zones or "cantons" as the local call it.
Forestreach
Forestreach is the canton taking up the eastern portion of the region. Its capital is Leafshadow, the largest town in the canton and a base for the foresters that work in the limits of the Great Creasur Forest. Its current Lady is Mistweave of the Gordon family.
Grandbourg
In the west, along the Great Illien River, stands Grandbourg, a hilly and sparsely settled canton. Here, agriculture and the production of the famed Grandbourg firemead are the primary occupations of the area's people. The canton is ruled from Sweetwater, the main market town in the canton, and is currently held by Lord Linoren of the Tasartir family.
Prevosar
Finally we have the Prevosar canton in the middle, where most of the cultivable plains stands and where the bulk of the population resides. Hurlingham, the capital and largest town of Prevos is situated here, its markets full of the bounty of the land and ready to supply its sister regions in Plergoth. The Lord overseeing the town is Gileas of the Marham family.
Hurlingham is also the seat of Countess Dedmerath Mekorig, from where she wisely rules the region.
