Introduction
One of the oldest realms in The Colonies, Oritolon has a proud history steeped in legend, heroism, tragedy and betrayal.
Oritolon's goals of strength, justice and unity are outlined by The Seven Pillars, seven principles that state what is expected of Oritolon's nobility and form the foundation of the realm's society.
After a stormy period of betrayal, sabotage, deceit and conspiracy fresh attempts are being made to stabilise Oritolon's political system and once again place these Seven Pillars at it's heart.
Geography
Oritolon is situated in the south-west of The Colonies along the northern shore of The Great Bay.
The regions of Oritolon are as diverse as the landscape itself, with treacherous desert and mountains to the north, harsh scrubland to the west and rich arable land and pine forests to the east.
Ancient and majestic, Oritolon City sits at the narrow mouth of The Great Bay, making it an important trading port and the first port of call for many new arrivals to the continent.
Politics
Oritolon has long been a republic, proud of it's fair and free political system. In recent times the political system has been reformed around ministries of Finance, Justice, Diplomacy and War with all nobles free to join these ministries and contribute to the politics of the realm.
Oritolon has good relations with the other realms on the continent. They are part of a federation including Lukon and Minas Thalion and are allied with both Assassins and Outer Tilog. Following a period of warfare relations with Giblot remain neutral.
Religion
The state religion of Oritolon is "The Path of Chivalry". This is not a traditional theistic religion but more a philosophy that encourages the virtues of strength, justice and unity in all people. The Path also aims to encourage benign worship and discourage conflict between faiths. The temples and shrines of The Path are shared by worshippers of many faiths who are free to worship as they please so long as their worship does not have an adverse affect on others.
History
