Dwilight

He was the Duke of the Dark Mountains and Marquis of Shrine of Seeklander. He was the Baron of Chrysantalys Mines before the Astro-Caerwynian War. Also a former member of the Warders of the Island Citadel and a former Marshal of the Defenders of the Blood Stars. The first noble of Astrum to win a sword-fight tournament, three times tournament champion, and one of the best swordsman of his time. He joined the crusade against the Saxons of Thulsoma.

Kihalin was always intrigued by Sword Arts and dedicated his childhood on mastering his swordsmanship. When he left his ancesteral home of Sirion, he decided to travel to Dwilight where he will have monsters and undead creatures to test his sword. Monsters and Undead of Dwilight were famous for their strength and cunningness which surpassed any monster in other continents.  He travelled throughout the land until he found the great realm of Astrum where he sworn his oath as a knight of Chrysantalys. He fought under Duke Sergio for three years until he was appointed as Baron of Chrysantalys Mines. Chrysantalys Mines was falling apart when he was just appointed but after months of repair the region was restored to its former glory. He joined a tournament opened in Storms Keep shortly after the restoration of the mines but lost in the round three. He was shocked by great swordsmen of Dwilight and trained himself against monsters and undead of the mountain of Remorse. His training paid off and he became the Champion of the tournament of Valkyrja.

The Crusade

Kihalin and his men were defeated and Kihalin himself was captured during the siege of Storms Keep. While the crusaders were assaulting the keep, he killed one of the wardens and escaped in the confusion. After the escape, he joined the second assualt and defeated numerous Saxons. The second crusade ended in success. Kihalin was promoted to a Knight Crusade within the Church of Sanguis Astroism.

Marshal of the Defenders of the Blood Stars

As a marshal of the DotB, his job was to defend Astrum from monsters spawning from the western side of her. When he became the marshal, the DotB only had four members with most of them being inactive except Sir Cathan. Duke Sergio joined the army in order to help him rebuild the army. Kihalin wanted to attack monsters before they reached inner regions of Astrum but when he ordered his army to attack Mountain of Remorse, monsters were moving toward Chrysantalys Mines. He turned the army back and faught them just outside of the region. He realized with only three active members in his army, it was impossible to make any attempt to secure the mountain regions. The number of members of the DotB stayed under 10 until the invasion of Caerwyn.

Siege of Valkyrja

Allied armies of Astrum, Morek Empire, Corsanctum, Libero Empire, and Summerdale marched toward the capital of Averoth at the beginning of Spring. It was a bloody battle. Over 800 men lost their lives to breach the walls of Valkyja. Total of 1200 men died from both sides.

The Astro-Caerwynian War

The war began when Duchess Allison of Morek seceded her duchy from Morek and made a new realm called Entai. Caerwyn saw this as a good opportunity to destroy the Sanguis Astroism and increase their size to become a new power. Caerwyn invaded Duil as soon as they broke the federation and cut the Chrysantalys regions from the rest of Astrum. Kihalin, Sir Cerber, and Duke Sergio were trapped in the Chrysantalys regions while the rest of the DotB were in Eidulb Outskirts waiting for allies. Sir Zor Ironfist decided to disobey the order and attacked Duil. Over 7000 CS of Caerwyn forces overwhelmed Sir Zor's tiny squadron easily and turned to Chrysantalys Mines. The trapped three members of the DotB had to retreat to Chrysantalys, where the great walls of the city would protect them from coming enemies.

After a brutal take over of Chrysantalys mines, Caerwynese army retreated back to Walefishire. Stratego Sergio ordered to attack the mines. After a quick battle, Kihalin encountered Lord Brom whom he had met many times in tournaments and also in the guild house of Path of the Sword. He challenged Lord Brom to a duel but the duel request was refused. When Kihalin joined rest of his army in Duil, he stepped down from the marshalship and became a vice-marshal of the defenders as Lady Allison replaced him.

After burning Averoth to the ground, the SA alliance turned their swords south to Caerwyn. The SA alliance defeated Caerwyn in the fortified townland of Walefishire. After months of relatively easy battles, the SA alliance managed to drive Caerwyn to starvation. The starvation caused many revolts in Caerwyn and eventually Golden Ferrow, the capital of Caerwyn,  rebelled. At this point, many Caerwynian nobles left their homeland to join other realms to the south. Caerwyn quickly crumbled once the starvation hit. Caerwyn proved that it was no match for the great SA alliance and all her threats were rather empty as they could not even provide a decent challenge for the SA alliance. Averoth was a better opponent than Caerwyn. With Caerwyn gone, the SA gained the northern half of the central sea routes, opening a way to the south through the central sea.

During the war, Kihalin mostly defended the northern regions against overwhelming monsters.

Duke of Shrine of Seeklander / Duke of the Dark Mountains

After winning a second place in his fifth tournament held in Paisly, Kihalin was appointed as the Duke of Shrine of Seeklander. As the duke of the Shrine, Kihalin was tasked with stopping waves of monsters from entering the eastern plain regions. When the council reformed the Defenders, Kihalin joined the army to help it defend the southern regions and retake Chrysantalys regions.

During his reign, he constructed five recruitment centers and nine infrastructures in Shrine of Seeklander. This made the stronghold one of Astrum's most militarily important regions. After winning the second tournament of Golden Farrow (the first tournament to be held by Kabrinskia), he began his meditation, thus resigning from all his positions.

Return to Astrum

Kihalin returned from his long meditation (10 months) to fight the heathen realm of Asylon. However, by the time he has reached the battlefield, Vasilif Sergio was discussing a peace treaty with Asylon. Kihalin and some of his younger peers expressed their disagreement with Vasilif Sergio, but Sergio only gave them a short answer to why Astrum was signing the peace treaty.

After returning from the campaign, Kihalin was appointed as the new Count of Ammando to look over the region. However, right after his appointment, Kihalin joined a new Crusade called by the new regent Mordaunt which ended rather quickly. When he realized that the crusade ended even before he reached Terran, he decided to participate in a tournament held by Queen Alice of Luria Nova.

After the Lurian tournament, Duchess Gelene held a tournament in her city to celebrate Duke Karibash's 80th birth day. Kihalin participated in the tournament to honour his friend although he lost to Lord Linden.

Strategos

After the tournament, King Leopold of Niselur declared war on Astrum, immediately invading Forguthrie to start a TO of the region. Astrum's armies were stationed in Duil by Strategos Antierre's order. But when no enemies were in sight for days. Feeling frustrated, Kihalin created a new army, the Judgement of Austere to deal with Niselur. He gathered nobles who were lords and knights of the northern Astrum to fill the spots in his army, but unfortunately for him, it took awhile for him to gather all his members. While he was waiting for his men to gather, Strategos Antierre stepped down to let Kihalin lead the armies of Astrum instead. Kihalin ordered the Defenders of the Blood Stars in Duil to gather in Eidulb Outskirts to prepare an offensive campaign against Niselur. Once the armies were ready, Kihalin ordered everyone to gather in Gelene Outskirts where they waited Exarch Justus of Corsanctum and his men. The combined armies marched to Jorradith where they attacked Gaston Farms where they met the Niselurian army in the Battle of Gaston Farms.

After a full refit, Kihalin ordered Astrumites to attack Walefishire. The Battle of Walefishire, however, failed and Astrum lost 45% of her mobile strength while Asylon lost only half of that. After the battle, Kihalin decided to stick with his original plan and ordered both armies to focus on dealing with Niselur. He sent the Defenders to take back Zereth while ordered the Judgement to attack Farronites in Libiddo. The Judgement quickly defeated Farronites in the Skirmish of Libiddo and by the time they finished preparing themselves to head north, Niselurians impatiently attacked the Defenders in Zereth. Niselurians were defeated in the Battle of Zereth where most of their men were slaughtered while Astrumites and Corsanctumites stood strong. Kihalin ordered the Defenders to continue the take over.

After the take over, the Defenders of the Blood Stars was ordered to return while the Judgement was ordered to attack Jorradith. However, Niselur refitted much quicker than Kihalin anticipated. Niselur's vanguard attacked the vanguard of the Judgement, defeating a couple nobles of the Judgement. However, Lord Adrian managed to slay Lord Zach of Under Darfix before retreating. Kihalin immediately pulled everyone back to deal with Asylon and Farronite Republic in Duil after the small skirmish.

When Kihalin and his army arrived in Eidulb Outskirts, Kihalin found out that Marshal Turin ordered a premature attack on Duil, which had 14,000 CS of enemies, with only 9,000 CS. Kihalin ordered people who were about to arrive in Duil to turn back while ordering people in Ediulb Outskirts for a full day attack on Duil. Marshal Turin and some members of Corsanctum could not turn around in time and were forced to fight a hopeless battle in which they helped Farronites realize they were still at peace with Corsanctum which disallowed them from fighting Astrum and Corsanctum. Farronites adjusted their diplomatic relation with Corsanctum to neutral before the battle. At the following sunset, 19,000 CS of Astrum and Corsanctum attacked 14,000 CS of Asylon and Farronite Republic in a battle later known as the Massacre of Duil.

After the massacre, Astrum attacked Walefishire to chase the shattered armies of Asylon and Farronites. Astrum defeated them again in the Battle of Walefishire II, capturing and wounding several of Asylonian and Farronite nobles. It was a major victory for Astrum, buying themselves enough time to fight Niselur which has been pestering their north. Kihalin led a few members to hunt down retreating Asylonians to Dunnbrook where they fought the Skirmish of Dunnbrook. King of Asylon fled the region before Kihalin and his men could capture him.

Comments about regions

  • Shrine of Seeklander - doesn't produce any good center with an excellent armour rating. However, it does produce Recruitment Centers with good weapon ratings.
