The Gaztaseven family originate from Dorton, Atamara

Malachi

Studious and generally reserved from an early age, Malachi left Atamara to travel to the East Continent, looking to expand his knowledge of the world through experience. He joined the realm of Caligus, which was under heavy attack from the southern federation at the time. He quickly adapted to a military life, but when the realm became short on bureaucrats, his natural affinity with scholarly pursuits forced him to step forward.

Eventually the war came to an end, and Caligus was forced to give up several regions in return for peace. The realm became tied up in red tape, but rather than throw away the bureacratic experience he had gained, he instead moved east to join Light of Fountain. Unfortunately, there was not much work to be done there either, so he grabbed his sword and attended the many tournaments held across the land.

Peace never lasts forever, and soon Fontan decided that LoF had wronged them in the past, and declared war. A quick takeover of An Najaf cut the realm in two, and things looked grim. After several close-fought battles it was apparent that several nobles were cowering inside the walls of the city of Fontan, a point which was brought home when an otherwise well-planned attack to reclaim An Najaf left Light of Fountain forces devastated and Malachi sitting in Fontan's cells.

If people would not fight for the survival of the realm, Malachi was not to waste anymore time, and boarded a ship leaving for Beluaterra upon his release from prison. Once again reverting to Bureacracy, he joined Enweil, a large realm which would surely require help with maintainance. Indeed it did, and also there were several regions without lords, a perfect fit for Malachi. Four days after his arrival, Malachi was appointed Count of Tsamn, where he continues to work for the nobles and commoners of Enweil.

Pelagius

Pelagius followed very closely in the footsteps of his older brother, reading and learning all he could, nontheless he had quite a different outlook on life, looking at things more philosophically than his more rigid-thinking, logical brother. Though intelligent, he was also hopelessly optimistic, and made his way to the South-East Islands with the hope of convincing the warring realms to set aside their differences and live in peace.

Joining the realm of Toren, he soon found himself surrounded by desperate warriors and religious zealots alike - however, they were reasonably interesting company, and taught Pelagius the value of a good swordarm and a loyal unit - so much so that he renounced all other paths and chose to fight on the frontlines, in the name of the almighty Tor. Locked in battle for several months with the realm of Sandalak for several months, Pelagius began to forget about his previous life and dreamed of having a lordship bestowed upon him. Sandalak fell, and Toren allied themselves with Ikalak. Surely with the annexing of Taselaks regions, Pelagius would recieve the lordship he dreamed of.

However, Taselak proved to be a much more worthy foe than anticipated, and Toren were outmanouvered and outmatched on the battlefield time and time again. Pelagius kept himself in gold by borrowing from the family treasury, as Toren went through several generals and increasingly severe losses. His faith in Tor and his general demeanour darkened somewhat, as the loss of a king on the battlefield followed by infighting and jostling for position further hurt the realm. Pelagius decided it was time to leave, and travelled to join his enemies in Taselak.

But Pelagius would never realize his dreams - after fighting alongside his new realm-mates for several months, he was killed during a pitched battle in Moeth, in which a stray arrow pierced his left eye.

Vincent

Vincent wanted for nothing as a child - family problems caused his parents to shower him with gifts and a distinct lack of attention. He grew up ignorant to the world around him, and didn't care much when his brothers left the family home while he was in his teenage years. His parents saw the man he was becoming and realized they had made a grave error in his upbringing. And so the document was drawn up - Vincent would not recieve inheritance unless he proved himself to be a worthy noble. He immediately saw his future crumble, and joined his home realm of Abington right away.

Not long after becoming a knight of the realm came the 'war of dishonour', and Vincent fought hard with his peers and superiors to defend Abington against the force of several realms. As quickly as it had begun, the war ended. Vincent had proven his worth as a noble in the eyes of his family, and Abington was largely at peace. It was time to return to his former life. But Vincent saw the alluring shine of gold in the life of succesful nobles, far more riches than his family could ever leave him. After some thought, he decided that it would be fun to steal the gold of his enemies to add to his own personal coffers, and laughed at the thought that his secret stash could become larger than his brother's inheritance.

Vincent rushed his training, and quickly found himself accumulating bans across the continent. Always the headstrong individual, Vincent continued to steal from tax offices continent-wide without furthering his training, believing himself to be untouchable. For a while this was true, and Vincents wealth accumlated steadily. During this time, Carelia were pressured into breaking their alliance with Abington, and Vincent saw this as the perfect opportunity to steal from somewhere closer to home. After many successful raids on Carelia's tax offices, Vincent got overconfident and was caught during a botched break-in. Abington promptly banned him for unauthorized infiltrator activities, and Vincent feared for his life. Lucky, Carelia's judge was a fair man, and after promising to never step foot on Carelian soil again, Vincent was to be freed.

Vincent didn't count on the unspoken parts of the agreement - and awoke upon a ship headed for the East Continent. His recklessness and greed had set him back greatly, although he at least still had his life. As the ship came towards the shores of Itorunt, he vowed never to rest on his laurels again - but there wasn't anything he could do about his greed...

Blake

Weeks before Vincent was born, a whore of Dorton announced that she was pregnant with a child of the Gaztaseven family. Rumours of relationship problems had been plaguing the family, and it is likely that the unnamed peasant was truthful in her claim. The family could not bring themselves to 'silence' a pregnant woman, but did not want the child to become part of the family, as the three brothers would be sure to ask questions as they got older. After the birth, the woman vanished and the baby was given to peasants emigrating to Beluaterra.

Growing up in the realm of Ashborn, he was forced to work from the age of five, and was regularly beaten by his drunken father. As soon as he was able, he left home for a life of adventure, deciding the danger was no worse than his pitiful existence at home. He quickly became adept at slaughtering the evil beasts that roamed the land, and soon he was considered a free man of his realm, although still a commoner. He continues to roam the continent, despatching evil beings with a group of fellow adventurers, possessing no knowledge of his ties to nobility.
