Cjelegy, often called the Lighthouse of the Isles, is a vast rural region on the northern side of the Isle of the Twin Cities. To the north is the rural region of Ajitmon on the Isle of Athol. To the east is the city of Athol Margos. To the south is the townsland of Avengmil. To the west is the city of Rines. There are two main bodies of water bordering the region of Cjelegy, Atholian Mane off the eastern coast and Sea of Four Cities off the north western coast.

Districts of Cjelegy

1 - Just outside the second largest farming village in the region, Bariston, is the Cjelegy Bridge leading north into the region Ajitmon on the Isle of Athol.
2 - Large lighthouse for Atholian Mane
3 - Ortis, a fishing village that competes with Zarion, the large fishing village to the south.
4 - Zarion, a fishing village that stretched along the coast in a thin line.
5 - Barren coasts
6 - Dirt roads run through the district connecting Zarion and Aenim to Athol Margos and towards Avengmil.
7 - Village of Aenim, largest in the region, is situated in the middle of farmlands known to the locals of Obeah Fields.
8 - Eastern Farmlands of Aenim, considered the eastern half of Obeah Fields.
9 - Western Farmlands of Aenim, considered the western half of Obeah Fields.
10 - Open plains, was a frequent battlefield in the past, a monument lies near the road leading from Bariston and Aenim.
11 - A dirt road runs through the area, giving travelers a path to the village of Cjele in the central hills from Bariston
12 - Gryphon's Nest, farming village focusing on grapes, the local wine (Gryphon's Blood) is famous on the Isle of the Twin Cities.
13 - An area of hills filled with bandits that ambush travelers along the nearby road into and out of Bariston.
14 - Coastline with sparse huts, usually occupied by fugitives.
15 - Large lighthouse for Sea of Four Cities
16 - Ygilis, fishing village on the border with the city of Rines.
17 - Meadows of Moonlight, named for its location outside the city of moonlight, Rines.
18 - In the middle of the Central Hills lies the village of Cjele. Though it is not the best area economically in the region, the hill people are fierce warriors who in ancient times dominated the region due to their skill in battle.
19 - Dirt road with hills on one side and plains on the other. The road provides the region with access to Avengmil and vice versa.

Religion

Currently the people of Cjelegy are followers of the Heralds of Obeah and have erected a small temple.

History

Local Legends

A local legend speaks of a headless horseman who rides together with the night to forewarn of Daimon attacks which have plagued Cjelegy during the invasions. When the horseman appears the clouds hide the sky and the strong and warm southern wind follows. When this happens the tolls of St. Alerik, a mythical local protector, sound fiercely throughout the streets calling upon the defenders of Cjelegy to arm themselves and rally for the battle.

Temporary

Due to its dominant geography Cjelegy is often called as the Lightouse of the Islands, as it serves as a vanguard for the safety of the more vulnerable southern lands. Connection with the smaller northern island with only a massive wooden bridge classifies Cjelegy as a very important military and mercantile region. The Bridge of Cjelegy is daily guarded by a host of militia to forewarn the southerners of any invasions from the North.

Cjelegy's economy relies mostly on farming and fishing, however, a significant part of the region's wealth comes from the merchants and lone travelers who often reside in the warm and cozy Cjegeian inns and taverns. The warm, mediterranean climate allows for excellent cultivation of grapes, which in return yields even better wine. The local specialty is the Gryphon's Blood; a rare red wine with highest quality and a high price. A place of a religious and cultural diversity, Cjelegian inhabitants don't nurture fanaticism and are more concerned of the mutual wellbeing of their fellow neighbors.

Cjelegy is a prosperous rural region between the twin cities of Rines and Athol Margos. Due to its geographic location, Cjelegy houses twin lighthouses of great size for ships passing through between the Sea of Four Cities and the Atholian Mane. While Cjelegy is generally rustic, it has always made a significant military and economic contribution to its parent realm. The Cjelbriji, as the people Cjelegy are called, are guarded attentively by a host of Cjelbram: hardy militiamen who fight well beyond their pastoral heritage.

According to local legend there is dark rider who, lacking a head, has a lantern fixed to his neck and a torch in each hand that rides out at night when Daimons are near. When the horseman appears, dark clouds in an ominous spiral pattern hide the sky and the strong, warm southern wind crash against the southern crags. The deeply chiming bells of St. Alerick announce those spiral-cursed nights, and locals know to hide in their cellars at the bells' calling.

While Cjelegy's economy relies heavily on farming and fishing, a significant part of the region's wealth comes from hospitality for it is said of Cjelegy by the merchants and travelers who often reside in the cozy Cjelegian inns and taverns that no retreat is better. The tavern life is prosperous for the warm, mediterranean climate allows for the excellent cultivation of grapes that yield wine of famous renown. Among many popular choices, the most famous local specialty is the Gryphon's Blood; a rare red wine of the highest quality costing a king's purse.

Sights

Near the center of Cjelegy lies a large, fertile plain. Travelling south from Fwuvoghor along the great trading route, crossing this plain a traveller may see a large stone stele having been erected near the place where the road splits towards Rines and Athol Margos. Atop the stele the silvered, fanged and horned skull of a large daimon has been mounted, its empty eye sockets staring south - where other such steles tell a story of desperation and blood. The weathered inscription reads:

'During the fifth invasion, in July 1012, a riombaran army met the daimonic 2nd southern Blight Creature, destroying both his army and his mortal form on this field of battle. To honour those who fell so that we may live and to honour the heroes who did fell the beast:

• Knight Celebrian for striking the first blow,
• Duke Evander for striking the second blow,
• Knight Gellaer for striking the mortal blow,
• Knight Majusen for making sure the creature stays dead.
