Virovene/Letter to Neel

Could you send this letter to Springdale? I can not tolerate Neel saying lies behind my back!

Cato has turned it into a complete religious war spreading lies about the realm and me.

Dear Emperor, the religious war was started by you, *you* declared war on Holy Lands of Sanguis Astroism! *Your* priests preached in the lands they were not allowed. If you will continue reading this, then you notice that you spread lies here...

Not that it might make a difference, I wish to give my side of the story. I have stayed quiet mostly because whenever I write a letter for the realm, I am accused of alienating the dukes and what not.

Uhm no, you write this now as now is nobody to overthrow your lies.

This is my story. You can either consider it a personal defence or an appeal or whatever it is that you wish.

I consider it amusing... And with lots of lies.

Those who are new, might not know of Attius Miriel, the first king of Springdale. Due to certain actions and words by him, the realm was as a whole dissatisfied. It was then decided by some of the lords and ladies of this realm to oust him from power. At that point, I was unaware of this plan and had no notions of such an action. Indeed....

However, I had also vocally voiced my opinion and called out King Miriel to make changes to the way the realm was running. However, very soon after that, I was made aware of the plan of the rebellion. I was asked to lead the rebellion. I accepted for King Miriel had refused to change the way the realm was being run into the ground.

You were asked because you were only one who had enough treats for rebellion. (prestige, days in realm)

At that time, Cato, who was the Baron of Mt. Black Nastrond, made a demand:

Uhm... SINCE WHEN? I was the DUKE of NIFELHOLD! Remember that! The FIRST one! I built the region up and you forget it!!! Also, I said that you help me, I help you. There was no demand, it was a TWO way contract!

If I agreed to appoint him the duke of Muspelheim, he and his knights (numbering 4 at the time) would support the group that wanted change, else they would support King Miriel. Since our wish was to ensure that the coup was essentially bloodless, and also there was a risk from another ground led by Fisc Arylon, now of Everguard, I was forced to accept Cato's demand. You was not forced, you just were to scared.

Once the new Springdale was established, I formed a Senate which of course included Cato. However, he always opposed both the Senate and the crown. After a number of issue within the Senate, I was forced to remove Cato from that position.

My apologies Dear Emperor, but I was the voice of the people who were mad at the property tax, I wanted it to be removed! But your greedy government wanted to take gold from the nobles! That is the reason why the Senate kept attacking me, I ofcourse replied to them.

Now I share the biggest lie!!! *I* WANTED you to remove me from Senate!!! YOU KEPT me in Senate after I asked THREE times! On the FOURTH time you removed me, masking it as YOU WANTED me out of the Senate. That is the truth! Dont even try to change it!

Ever since he has been on a mission to put me down, to insult me and to cause trouble within the realm.

Well I acted based on your lies, I couldn't tolerate those lies!

Even the recent events point to that. I asked a question within the Senate but which was taken public. The issue was denied by Cato, the issue of forming Virovene. But he has done so.

Yes I did so, AFTER you insulted me several times, YOU brought this to yourself. On the time you accused me, I was still thinking what to do with you.

I have not spoken to Knight Ferber except asking what he was doing outside the realm. But I was accused of employing him against Cato. While I cannot prove otherwise, I can state with my concience in the clear that I did no such thing. And if you notice, Ferber is now a member of Virovene without any retribution from Cato.

Why should I punish a Knight who didn't attack me, who denied your offer and who notified me of it!

Sanguis Astroism was allowed to preach freely in Aegir and Muspelheim duchies and anywhere else in Springdale without any restriction as have been the Order of the Seven. This was only because Springdale allows freedom of religion and belief. But that again has turned out to be a folly for Morek has now declared war on us at the behest of Cato.

Yes Springdale allows Lords to decide what to allow in their regions. But why only Duchy of Muspelheim has temples? Well White Plains has too. But The center of SA in Springdale was Muspelheim. Mostly other regions denied temples/shrines. Preaching has not much effect if there are no temples or shrines.

Cato did not want to just resurrect Virovene, but he wants to destroy Springdale, takeover Aegir and take whatever else of Springdale that he can. And still I am being blamed for causing him to secede. Yet, he had signed contracts with other knights for them to join Virovene before the events of the last few days.

First, only contract with I had was with Raimond Metsamees, he was hired as my personal guard on the day he joined Springdale. Other knights just had their own brain to think with!

Yes you were the cause to secceede! I do not want to attack Aegir or Springdale city! I would be most pleased if they form their own realm, or join me. All I want is my old region, Nifelhold.

I am being accused of being nationalistic for thinking of Springdale, of asking the dukes to remain as one. And I am being insulted by lords who are still a part of the realm. Is Springdale nothing? Is the realm nothing? Are only the duchies that matter? Then perhaps none of the duchies should remain a part of Springdale at all. Perhaps then everyone should secede and become independent realms and try to fight the likes of Morek and Virovene.

Yes everyone should secede to get rid of your ruling! Why should they attack us? YOU are the only one responsible, not them! YOU broke your side of the oath between us! Not Dukes Raiva and Haine!!!

This is the story and the thoughts from my mind. The rest is up to you. This is the time for tests much more than those we underwent during and after the reign of Attius Miriel. This is when Springdale will be threatened with her existence.

I am certain that we are being spied on, our realms letters and discussions being passed on to Morek and Virovene. They know far too much which allows them leverage against me in any discussions. Well done to the knight who while calling himself a member of our realm, betrays the oath to the realm, his/her liege and his/her region.
