Great idea! Ialways had the idea my self as I am a total total war freak as well as a BM freak but I've alwyas founded it quite a chlange. However, I've got some basic moding skills (scripting) and I am willing to help. However It will be a pretty hard chalange to give this mod a real 'BM feeling' if you know what I mean.

We will need alot of expirienced modders to help us during this project if we don't want to take two years in completing it. --Vlad 14:43, 21 January 2009 (CET)

My friend is a very experienced modeler and skinner and should do well, I also can do modelling well. Mapping is a problem though I admit, I'm sure I'll find a workaround, theres so much work to do before then so I won't worry about it. About the BM feeling, I think once I include actual characters into the game as hero's people will really start to feel like it's BM. Shenron 15:18, 21 January 2009 (CET)

You cann add one or two 'general's per unit and one general for the army but how can you effect the campaign map?

In BM everything surrounds nobles, in RTW, everything surrounds around the nation and the number of men you have.

BTW, why arent we moding this to M2TW:Kingdoms? --Vlad 16:36, 21 January 2009 (CET)

M2TW is a lot more complicated and I don't feel comfortable with it. I guess we could, but it would be a bit of a learning curve for me. Shenron 01:07, 22 January 2009 (CET)

I must say that I've got no personal expirience with moding it though it would offer more options for us and give us a more stable game.

PS, do you have gmail? or msn or some other instant message system? I've already got some wonderful ideas, for repssenting duchies, scripting AI, representing Recruitment centers etc. --Vlad 09:55, 22 January 2009 (CET)

Your idea's are very very welcome and yes I do have MSN and that is at evil_hamster__@hotmail.com (no, I don't expect to go a job appplication). About M2TW, I don't like the fact that there is so little variety in M2TW Unit Models that there is not much to go off. I suppose I can incorporate RTW into Medieval but it would be a lot of conversion work. I think we should debate about that further when I get a private forum of some sort set up for the whole group to talk. We'll only get a forum on the TWC once we are an established modding team. Seems where not online often... If I undertsnad well, you know how to make maps with RTW? maybe you should start working on that while we recruit team members on TWC and the guild. good plan? all i can do is script some txt files and have the ability to come up with some nice features. If you wish I'll set up the recruiting page right now. --Vlad 12:15, 27 January 2009 (CET)

Tom's Permission?

Out of curiosity, have you approached Tom about this? It would be pretty poor form to do something like this without at least approaching him and making sure he's OK with it. --Indirik 14:52, 21 January 2009 (CET)

No I haven't. Why? I didn't think about it. I was hoping Tom could just see this wiki page and comment, I would take no comment as an approval. Tom usually gets pissed off when people talk to him about things that don't concern his direct involvement. If he doesn't like this idea he'll get pissed off at me on this page and that's how it will be. Shenron 15:18, 21 January 2009 (CET)
You should probably approach him regardless, if not just to settle any potential copyright issues. Quote from the front page of battlemaster.org

Would be a good idea, at least for the sake of courtesy. Also can I help :D? Not so much a modder so I'd only be useful for fluff and things like units names and statistics. --Aerywyn 01:39, 22 January 2009 (CET)
Ok I'll contact him later today or something like that. And yes, any type of help is appreciated. Deciding names and statistic is actually a hard job that does need doing. Shenron 10:14, 22 January 2009 (CET)
