>> Not everyone is able to interact with your character, but only those who are in the same region with your character. There is no point in realmwide roleplays for everyone to enjoy since the RPG-list is the most suitable place for you to post your roleplays. That will ensure the fact that your character's personality remains hidden from those with whom you do not interact with which makes perfect sense; how can one learn of your personality if he has never spoken to you?

This is a recipe for disaster. You have to have some suspension of disbelief and we have to encourage people to communicate with each other. I used to use the RPG list but I (and many others) simply can't be bothered all of the time, and a lot of people don't even know about the RPG list. Saying you are an RP realm but that there is "no point in realmwide roleplays" is contradictory. You don't want to "ensure the fact that your character's personality remains hidden from those with whom you do not interact."
Actually, realmwide contact should be avoided and the only way for one to achieve that is by restricting realmwide contact entirely (even if storytelling). People should be encouraged to interact on a regional level and once they do so, everyone will see that it is equally fun. Also, I have hardly ever met such a good RPer to not be influenced from realmwide RPs. Even if noone witnesses my character assassinating someone, if I try a roleplay, everyone is influenced from that (I have similar experiences). -- L'inconnu 04:03, 9 April 2008 (CEST)
There is and should be strong separation between IC and OOC, but I consider more that we are a group of authors writing about a group of characters; our characters may not know the details of other characters' personalities if they are not acquainted, but as players it should be acceptable for us to know things that our characters do not, and to enjoy roleplay and narrative even if it does not directly affect our character. -- Aquitaine - 8 April 2008, 9:50 EDT
I totally agree, but that is nothing more than ideal. So far I have never played in a realm that the atmosphere is as good as described and I have played in more than 25 realms. Maybe I have missed the one you have in mind... -- L'inconnu 04:03, 9 April 2008 (CEST)

>> Directly contacting a superior trespassing your liege equals with an indirect insult

Again, this is simply too harsh. I agree that we should encourage the vassal/liege relationship, but I prefer the carrot to the stick. A lot of people simply don't know better. Rather than yell at them for breaking the rules if they do this, it is better to simply reward them for doing it the right way (and to make sure that they know the right way). Calling it 'nonsense' when it is really how most of the game operates is only going to alienate players, even if it IS nonsense. You have to accept that you are trying to change the way people play the game, and insulting how they have been doing it is not the best way to do that, even if you are correct and they are not. -- Aquitaine - 8 April 2008, 9:50 EDT
I know, you know, that we both prefer the carrot to the stick (from Ethiala), but my point is not to restrict contact through various ranks. That is written mostly for everyone to comprehend the importance of tresspassing a liege and the consequences it may carry for doing so; it was not even possible in medieval ages, so at least let us assume it is an insult. On a side note, yes, I try to change the way people play the game, at least if it is only for Melodia. Dwilight is failing and I would not like to see another Far East. Do you have any other way to prevent it from happening? I am open to suggestions. -- L'inconnu 04:03, 9 April 2008 (CEST)

>> Do not physically harm any character during roleplay

This is a specific case of powergaming; you might rather just talk about powergaming in general, or even link to an article where I've already done that. -- Aquitaine - 8 April 2008, 9:50 EDT
When I have first played BM, I had no idea what powergaming was and I needed a few examples of what powergaming is. That is an example, but the most serious one. I am not a theorist person, but rather a pragmatic one. I am not good at generalities, I do better understand examples. -- L'inconnu 04:03, 9 April 2008 (CEST)

All in all, feel free to edit/add to the page. My limited language skills, my limited time and my pragmatic personality are not the best combination to write such a required for Melodia page. :) That is most than true! :D So better work with me. -- L'inconnu 04:03, 9 April 2008 (CEST)
