The Great Funeral
Part I

Roleplay from Ryeena Burson

Ryeena sat on a narrow bed in her rooms within the Abilotiel Temple. She had awoken there the previous day after being brutally attacked by followers of Sartan that were upset at her preaching. Luckily some Followers of the Way found her before she was killed and carried her to the Temple grounds. Finally, after a few days of unconsciousness, she was allowed to sit up in bed and receive visitors. Her scribe was the first, dragging with him a heavy basket full of correspondence.

"High Priestess, tragedy has befallen Lord Serpentis. His beloved wife has died, only hours ago. A great tent city has surrounded the Temple and Lord Serpentis was here but he has gone somewhere else. Guardian Dormondt and Prime Minister von Genf have both sent word as to your whereabouts but they were not received until today as well. And monsters have been spotted in Rapael, but there are troops there taking care of the situation already."

Ryeena shook her head sadly. Lord Serpentis' wife had been lovely, always ready with a warm smile every time they came to the Temple. She would be missed by all, but most greatly by Lord Serpentis and their children.

"Send word to Guardian Dormondt and Prime Minister von Genf. Let them know I was ambushed by Sartan worshipers, but I am safe and in Abilotiel. Let Lord Serpentis know I am here as well and will be taking a hand in the ceremony if he is agreeable. I will need the register of knights of Rapael and the status of their estates, a copy of the book of Arcachon's armies so I can reassign my knights to where they are needed, and finally I need something to drink and perhaps something small to eat. The Lady Serpentis deserves a fitting burial and I intend to make sure she receives it, so be quick."

The scribe scurried to the door and spoke a few quiet words to whomever was outside, sending them running down the corridor. Ryeena wondered where Lord Serpentis was and how he was coping.

Roleplay from Amelia Cassadine

A knock comes to her door as she stares out the window in contemplation

Ma'dam, a public announcement has been sent across the realm that I believe may be of interest to you.

She shakes her head and opens the door, grabbing the paper out of his hands

If this is another argument against Sirion, I think I will pass. I've had quite enough of listening to scum defile the home of my family.

She begins to frown as she reads the heartfelt words of Gregor, but suddenly gets a small grin on her face as she finishes the announcement. She packs up her things and comes outside to speak to her unit of men.

Pack your things, were heading to Abiotel.

She looks up to the sky and whispers to herself

Maybe my week can turn around after all

Amelia arrives in Abilotiel looking all over the small town for sign of Gregor Eloyf and the funeral of his wife. She gasps a little bit then calms her nerves around her men.

"I hope Gregor has not left.... it would be a shame for me not to give condolences."

Roleplay from Gregor Eyolf Serpentis

Gregor had spent some days alone and in silence. But he didn't want to worry his children or the people around the temple. Many prominent men had written to him and lots of gifts and emissaries arrived with flowers. The employees accommodated everything near the altar where the body would receive the funeral rites.

The warrior went into the temple under a heavy black cloak, revealing only his sovereign face obscured by his black hair and beard. In a heavy belt he carried a ceremonial sword which rested one of his hands.

Gregor Eyolf: "I want to talk with the Priestess Ryeena. After that I will receive the guests and answer the letters..."

His face was impassive. The days were not being kind with the old hero.

Gregor Eyolf Serpentis
