Like the Coldest Winter Chill

In the darkest hole, you'd be well advised

Not to plan my funeral before the body dies

Gregor always liked the Autumn. The old hero preferred the Winter because in his campaigns fighting for Ikalak he had stepped on lands so cold that few men would be disciplined to resist. It was a wild island. For men forged for the battlefields. Gregor was young back then. Now he was old. Abilotiel was a gray and brown region. A reflection of Gregor Eyolf Serpentis. A wild sea, rugged shores, swamps and yaks. Large animals, heavy and strong.

The soldiers were staking some monstrous heads on the palisades. Gregor was comfortable in a dark leather armor and a bearskin over the shoulders that he brought from his hunts when he was young. Before becoming deadly with a sword, Gregor was a master archer and leader of the best archers of Ikalak. Now the sword rested in its sheath. He preferred the war hammer, a powerful weapon that only a man with his size could wield to smash the enemies. But as he watched the soldier's work and the limits of his properties, he wielded a large Scythe. A symbol of Omorthion. The temple in Abilotiel was dedicated to the God of Harvest and the people was bringing offerings to ensure another good harvest. Abilotiel was a rich and productive region. And Gregor knew how to command the region with the full knowledge that led him to be Minister of Finances in two realms. A good one.

Ohnar West was a strange place for him. But Abilotiel was his land, reflection and duty. After disagreements with the new government, he remained in Abilotiel. If he had a new Knight, he could march to the battle. But he received informations that the military action in Ohnar West was confusing. Disorganized. Or maybe the old hero was too harsh after having fought in one of the best armies that ever existed. He still had not received any request to send food. Any request of his Duke or the old new Minister of Finances. The werehouse was full. But winter will come. Gregor fought hard winters repairing the faults they had in the distribution system. Old concerns.

Free from the old responsibility, Gregor had more time to train his sons and educate his daughter. To visit the temple and fight in peace against the monsters. He was a Lord concerned just with his lands and obligations. Maybe a new Knight can change the situation, but now he had other concerns in this little time of tranquility. He was no longer the Minister of Finances and Sir Mika was not the Judge of Ohnar West anymore. It was a good time to arrange his daughter's wedding.

Gregor Eyolf: "Send a messenger to Lord Myka Vykos. We have something to solve..."
