The War Judge

Erik was riding with one hand on his abdomen. The wound would be just a memory. Another battle scar. However, the path was arduous. Retiring the sword to medidate seemed an easy concept for a samurai like Sir Ryu, but not for him. A life without death? Without feeling the enemy blood and the rage of a good battle? How those other elders could live after the glory? Just the Council and the administration of his city was insufficient to compensate the lack of blood. Being at the top of the military hierarchy does not replaces a good wall of shield.

A month was too long to wait. The election was an example that many things needed to work again. Wolves must always be wolves. Sirion was a sleeping dragon and has awakened in the worst way; to never happen again. Erik was away for long months of his main art. The reason that gave him a title from his enemies, a feat that belonged only to him. The fine art of pressing the enemy Judges with a war hammer. Confiscate foreign fortunes and conduct prisoner exchanges immensely favorable. Save a young Knight or an important Duke from dirty dungeons and wait for the first hours just to put an Infiltrator on a ship to the Colonies. Enforce the law like in the past. Like something alive among the people, like it need to be.

Erik Eyolf: "It's time to remember the good old times. The young people need a taste of the old times and the old ones deserves the votes entrusted to me. I only regret that Westmoor will never be an enemy like Fontan. After all, those times I dealt with prisoners of five different realms. Damn skirmishes."

Westmoor was on fire behind him. Another month or two would be enough. The Silver Dragon needed only one.
