Sir Temple

While the troops marched in the enemy's direction, a youth servant arrived and he gave an old book to Lord Erik. A coin of gold as payment and an order that the servant thanked the gift. An easy battle and a victory or one more defeat? It didn't matter on that moment. Erik opened the book and began to observe the document. The reading got the attention of Nesrah. The old sorcerer that was servant of Nesrah, the Rich. The sorcerer won the name and liked it, for that he maintained the title.

Nesrah: "Interesting reading, young Duke of Sir Temple?"

Erik Eyolf laughed with will, a bitter laughter. Sirion didn't get tired of frustrating the youth warrior and Lord of Dolmbar.

Erik Eyolf: "28 votes. Don't we have 28 Dukes, do we have? Listen..."

"After this period, the elected ruler will step down and FAIR elections will take place, to choose our Prime Minister AND the new council which will lead us to a new era of Glory! This council will be fully committed to keep W.Sirion a land of FREEDOM and EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES! The ruler won’t act as a dictator EVER AGAIN! His decisions will be taken after consideration and broad discussion with ALL citizens through a democratic process! The members of the council and the Dukes won’t rotate in an endless circle of the same persons again and again in an endless circle of indifference! We are able to decide in a mature way, who will be the one to represent as from now on-in each commanding post, from Battle Group Leaders to Dukes and Councilors!"

Nesrah: "Do you continue reading about our enemies of the past, M'Lord?"

Erik Eyolf: "And hearing what I read you don't think our enemies had something wise to teach? The soldiers of Sirion that won the enemies, not the politics of the votings that happen in Sirion, where the youths are just crazy ambitious persons and the old mute persons are perfect Dukes inside of tombs."

Nesrah: "It is natural that the oldest and mute persons have more friends than you, Sir Erik..."

Erik Eyolf: "And 28 votes are not enough? 28 votes are not worth more than the request of an old Duke? I have few friends, but I would not like to simply win any election because a powerful friend that made a simple request to ours Prime Minister. Did you notice that once again there was at least a campaign? As well as in Avamar, we didn't hear any word of the new Duke of Sir Temple. And why should those men speak to the people if they were not chosen for the people!?"

Nesrah: "You should be careful for not speaking like this in public, Sir Erik."

Erik Eyolf: "Say what? That our government create puppets as the grapes grow full in the soil of Dolmbar? What the same people's decision, old friends, will always create the same noxious repetition what our enemies of the past they faced? It is you that has to be careful and not call me aloud of Duke of Sir Temple, old Nesrah."

Nesrah: "But we know that you should be..."

Erik Eyolf: "Yes, we know. But I am not a mute person in a tomb or a puppet of the Council. Today we will struggle and win Fontan once again!"

Nesrah: "Perhaps you should do as that crazy youth that was buying votes for 10 gold..."

And the two men laughed with will. Erik kept the book in the bag that was in the horse and they continued the travel. A battle waited for them.
