Evora

Some days ago

After reading some interesting letters, Erik stood up and looked beyond his tent for a group of Stormwalkers protecting one of the quarries. A portion of servants and workers had been arrested. At the first sign of revolt the swords sang and blood covered the rocks and soaked in the dust. A burly man was separated from the others and two soldiers brought him before the Duke, hitting his legs so he knelt down. The Silver Dragon of Sirion never missed a good opportunity

Erik Eyolf: “You will work for me now. Gather your best workers and craftsmen. I’m tired of Skezard. If they resist, kill them and find someone willing to serve.”

Erik was enjoying being an architect. Avamar was in constant reconstruction and Evora was much richer than Skezard and the workers there were certainly more skilled in their craft. Establish a trade route like in the old days when his uncle Nersah was a master of the smuggling art. Avamar always need new walls, statues and the harems grew like the exotic plazas to attract merchants to the markets. There were also plans to build the greatest temple of East Continent to please his wives and expand the Red District. A timely visit.

Erik Eyolf: “Prepare a good wine and send some soldiers to hunt. I will invite Sir Basilius and Lady Rhidhana to talk a little. Maybe I'll persuade her about some feminine virtues. Who would not like a good female warrior to lie down in a bed, unh!? Maybe a castrated Priest like Jor.”

The Duke of Avamar looked to the east and thought for a moment. Gormok was working as usual, even if he didn’t like to be taking care of a child and a young lady, never letting them discover his presence. Inside the tent, Erik lit his pipe, leaning back in a comfortable campaign chair.

Erik Eyolf: “The family is growing. Before it was only my children, but my grandchildren will come soon. What a terrible time for aging. The House of Serpentis will prosper and grow, but I do not want someone else sharing my blood and using my name.”

Nerah: “A Marshal, not someone else. And I have to remind you that Dürion also has an admirer...”

Erik Eyolf: “This will not stop until I have deep ties to many Sirionites, unh!? Not until the future belongs to my name and heirs as much as the present is now in my hands.”

Nesrah: “Now you can think of getting married... for real.”

Erik Eyolf: “I’m married for real with three brides.”

Nesrah: “Get married like a...”

Erik Eyolf: “Like a 'man'? Do not be silly, sorcerer. I will never be like a 'man'. A human. They are too limited. But I will think about your suggestion. Maybe it pleases Lady Marion and Eilien and infuriates so many Ladies that would be better to give up the idea as I did in the past.”

Nesrah: “You can control an entire realm but cannot control what goes on between the women who love you...”

Erik Eyolf: “That's the beauty of my women: they are unique and tameless.”

And even far away Erik seemed to know quite well what to expect in his return to Sirion.
