Part II

Oberndorf

Dürion was starting to really love what he was doing. Standing there under the moonlight he observed the borders and his Dark Ones. They were traveling, plundering and killing without stopping. Their armor was already cut and perforated pieces of twisted steel, practically useless. Their swords had cut down so many lives that they could no longer perform small repairs efficiently. The blood had been black in its blades. To enforce the morale after the first travel maintaining a game of cat and mouse, Dürion turned them into head hunters. The healers had become specialists in a macabre art: to determine whether the soldier had even given the blow while the enemy was dead or alive. Steal heads killed by others was liable to punishment. However, each spoils received a reward.

The hunger inside given to me makes me what I am

Always it is calling me, for the blood of man

I can't bear! I cannot tame the hunger in me!

They were singing a hymn for Xeph'Eul. They covered their bodies with soot, ash and dried blood from his wounds or the red baths received after kill an enemy. The head hunters worshiped the art of mutilate the enemies with cruel blows of heavy swords. Captain Volkhard had a predilection for the art of skinning a man to adorn his cape. It was he who began to burn the impaled heads while they are singing at the macabre ritual.

The hunger inside given to me makes me feel alive

Always out stalking prey

In the dark I hide!

I say I did and always searching

You can't f*** with fate

So, instead you'll taste my pain!

I can't replace

Your screaming face

Feeling the sickness inside!

You say your life I'm taking

Always bothering me

I can't take this anymore

What you see, take this gift from me

You will soon feed from ME!

The smell of burning hair and twisted skin hot as hell didn't seem to alarm them. They experienced the terror caused by the Bringer of Doom. Their enemies would be welcomed into the Burning Abyss to agonize in the Chambers of Suffering. The young Black Dragon watched everything with an impassive expression. He could burn the whole world just to have an enjoyable sunset. At the first warning he would burn the "churches" of Humanity with a smile on his face as he had done in Negev with the Flow. However, he looked to the east. The Dragon's Nest was waiting for him like Lady Elena was waiting for a visit.
