The first records of the noble Reding family date all the way back to Dwilight’s Age of Colonization. Family legend holds that the first Redings moved to Madina Gardens during the height of this early land rush establishing what would become the family’s ancestral home. As extremely minor nobility, the Redings yielded no great persons during the first two decades of Dwilight. They remained focused on the local politics of their small hometown Madriona and largely ignored the rest of the world. However, the chaotic forces outside their small village would prove not so easily ignored. Rampant destruction from constant warfare and monster incursions would plague the Gardens over the years and take a deep toll on the local populace. Unlike many of their neighbors though, the family managed to survive the devastation and eventually exploited the instability to engineer their own rise to power.

As nobles of the smallest town in the region, the Redings were relatively obscure in the early days of the Gardens. However, the destruction of the neighboring towns Larafa and Gofau allowed Madriona to gradually annex its neighbors’ territory. Gradually, Madriona grew from the Garden’s smallest, poorest township to its largest and wealthiest. This expansion resulted in great wealth and power for Madriona and the Redings as one of its chief families. With the rise in family stature, the Redings managed to secure their first member to a formal knighthood serving the Margravine of the Gardens in 26 YD. Having finally broken through to the upper echelons of the nobility, it remains unclear how far this new family will go with its new found standing.
