July 20, 2006 - - High Marshal of Yssaria struck down!

Lightning Storm

Abishur, High Marshal of Yssaria was killed in a lightning storm. Here is the interpretation of a local priest: You really, really should've read the Inalienable Rights page. You've managed to break two of them in one posting, and ignore several of the "bylaws". This is as clear a violation as it gets. Ordering people in regards to a tournament, asking them to be active, trying to weasel around the Inalienable Rights by saying "oh, it's just a suggestion". You didn't understand what the Rights are for. I wish you more wisdom in your next incarnation.

July 13, 2006 - - In the memory of true Kalmarians

We must ask the KIC, what is truth? Truth is in the eye of the beholder, what is one truth to an Old Rancaguan, a Fontan or Perdanese, or Sirionite, is very different to usurping Avamarian or a poisoned and deceived Kalmarian. The Press does not deny claim to many of the Kalmarian Nobles, just the Avamarians and Oligarchians who came to the realm right after the rebellion.

It seems that Avamar cannot form its own realm, it must take from others. Yes indeed the entire Democracy is wrong, any government change which comes without the expressed consent of a majority of the original nobles is wrong. However what makes this particular democracy wrong is the fact that the Avamarians (who were in sore need a realm because they are unable to conform to the realms of others) denounced the rebellion, but then accepted it anyway. Thats what Avamarians do it seems, when the realm they infest becomes too weak to maintain them, they move on to another. Do they have any honour whatsoever?

Indeed, the democracy and her rampantly "democratic" Avamarians have probably been around for longer than the Royalists. But why is that? Because the royalists were forcibly removed from their home realm! Lalakis and his band of invaders probably have been in Kalmar longer, but only because many former Kalmarians know that they could never be accepted in a realm such as the one which has been created without drastically changing their beliefs. De-basing themselves before men and women who have robbed them of their homes.

Indeed a majority don't want a monarchy, but who are the most vocal of the realm? Who vote the most? The Avamarians of course! I would bet that the half the Nobles who are truly loyal to the realm which was created by Old Rancagua and Perdan wish to return, but they know that they would privately be persecuted should they open their mouths.

Furthermore, we are nothing like El Cid, for we are only retaking a realm for those who deserve to live in it. You too would be permitted into such a realm, for you are a true Kalmarian also. But, it seems that our honour dictates settlement with Kalmar now that they have a proper leader.

Militarily, Kalmar's only defence is the geographical positioning which forces armies to attack them in tight bottlenecks, reducing their numerical advantage. Concerning your RC's, it's all very well building them, but you have to hold on to them and you were about to loose many of them. Not to mention how you could afford to purchase the troops with average individual incomes of 10 gold per Nobles. Oh wait! Thats right you have Avamarians who siphon in gold from some of the more richer realms to benefit new ones.

Concerning negotiations, there were never negotiations because anything which Lalakis said to us could not be received as from the ruler of Kalmar. Why? Because Prometheus is the true ruler, the former Kings of Kalmar are the only true rulers and thus, now that Prometheus has become the ruler once more we can accept his words as the words of Kalmar itself. We realised long ago that anything Lalakis says is mud, for you cannot barter what is not yours in the first place!

In conclusion, it is the very justness and honour of Old Rancagua which is allowing the Avamarians to remain in Kalmar, for now that you have elected a proper Chancellor the key term of Old Rancagua's pledge to restore Kalmar has been achieved. I only hope that you all give him a fair chance at the rulership, he is an honourable man and deserving of your respect. It is only by unhappy chance that he was robbed of his rightful position.

It is lucky for you indeed that Old Rancagua is virtuous, for it is our desire for peace which allows the Avamarians to remain. Though, it does stain the memory of those true Kalmarians which is most lamentable. For though they are not with us in body, their spirits cry out against the usurpers which took their homeland from them.

July 11, 2006 - Tricky, Tricky Lalakis?

Well, it seems that the Kalmarian Chronicles has asked to know what the Tricks of Avamar are! I am sure that many of the older Sirionite leaders will remember their usurpation of lands not their own (an instance which we have here in Kalmar as well). Perhaps the worst fears of the Old Rancaguans have been comfirmed? That Prometheus' election was not due to their belief that he is a good leader (or their acknowledgement of his claim as the true King of the lands) and their renouncement of a claim upon a land that, for the most part, some 50% of them don't have.

Perhaps this is only a last ditch effort of the Avamarians to avoid the fate of total destruction of a realm they took from another once more, which if this the case would have to constitute Old Rancagua finishing the job. For though it seems Kalmar believes that they and Old Rancagua are evenly matched they are quite wrong. Though the Old Rancaguan troops were stopped, they won to crushing victory in Stora against superior numbers, it was only the very walls of Kalmar City itself which halted the advance, and even then the walls would have fallen had more troops arrived in the City from the recent victory in Stora.

But the action on Kalmar City itself is done, and should this election indeed prove to be a last ditch effort to save themselves then Old Rancagua shall return to finish the task placed before them, to cleanse the isles of the unjust and restore the Monarchy and her rightful King to the throne.

Negotiations have not been underway, for all that has reached the leadership of Old Rancagua is delay tactics by a skilled Avamarian politician, well versed in deceit and deception, and crackpot schemes to divide an already weakened realm, as well sectioning off regions which do not even belong to them from their patron nations. No, negotiations have not been going on, only the sembalance of such talks, but now Kalmar, in their final despair on the eve of another Old Rancaguan invasion (which has been postponed) is slowly giving into the demands made upon them, demands which were made many months ago. It was inevitable really.

Possible Peace on the way?

It seems that Old Rancagua's pressure through military intervention has been enough to squeeze the first steps towards fulfilling the terms, whinch were laid down by Old Rancagua many moths ago, that island realm must agree to if it is allowed to survive in its current state. Yesterday, Avamarian Chancellor Lalakis stepped down to allow Prometheus (the rightful King) a chance to be elected as the new ruler of the isles. Prometheus' restoration as the ruler of the Isles has been one of the prime goals of the Old Rancaguan leadership since this war began many months ago with the brutal rebellion of El Cid in the name of Avamar. As his first act, Prometheus began the long and arduous task of patching relations between the two northern realms.

The High Council of Old Rancagua is mindful and wary of the tricks of Avamar and will do all they can to ensure that Prometheus' chance to regain the rulership brings fruit, as well as protecting the rights of the exiled Loyalists. Soon it seems negotiations will begin to see if an end the war can be found and a peace treaty can be signed. Will keep everyone updated.....

July 4, 2006 - Armistices all round

Here follows a copy of the Ubentian Armistice:

Instrument of Armistice between the Republic of Ubent and the Southern Federation

Being necessary to ensure the survival of the Republic of Ubent, the aforementioned agrees to the following terms:

The Republic of Ubent will surrender and renounce all claims on the region of Winkamus to Federation member the Kingdom of Yssaria, until such time as the region is lost to another realm or either signatory ceases to exist.

The Republic of Ubent will surrender and renounce all claims on the region of Mines of Isadril to Federation member the Theocracy of Ibladesh, until such time as the region is lost to another realm or either signatory ceases to exist.

The Republic of Ubent will surrender and renounce all claims on the region of Moyale to Federation member the Empire of Itorunt, until such time as the region is lost to another realm or either signatory ceases to exist. As the Itorunt Empire currently shares no border with the Ubent Republic, the region will be surrendered to Ibladesh in trust until a further arrangement between Itorunt and Ibladesh is made.

The Republic of Ubent will limit its military forces to that force necessary only to defend against monsters, undead and other minor aggressors. This is considered as 6,000 Combat Strength. This value may be varied on situation and appeal to the Federation.

The Republic of Ubent will renounce its alliances with the Kingdoms of Perdan and Caligus. In return, the Federation will accept overtures of peace from Ubent, and guarantee no incursions on Ubent's borders unless any item of this instrument is broken by Ubent.

The Republic of Ubent agrees to deny safe harbour or passage to any former member of the Kingdoms of Perdan, Caligus or Kalmar sufficiently experienced to know the ways of their former realms.

These terms will be supported by the Republic of Ubent and the members of the Southern Federation. Should any party lapse in their duty, the remaining parties will agree on suitable chastisement.

Signatories:

Zog Returns

Prime Minister of the Republic of Ubent

Eleran

King of the Kingdom of Yssaria

Quake

Pontifex of the Theocracy of Ibladesh

Defeat in Kalmar City

With the hard-fought victory in Stora and the Avamarian military decimated and in complete disarray, High Marshal Wenliang, in dicussion with the Military Council decided to take the fight to the Avamarian capital, seizing the moment of weakness and marching upon Kalmar City itself. However, upon arrival many nobles failed to arrive due to travel delays and confusion from contradictory sets of orders issued by others. Attacking with only minimal numerical superiority, the battle-hardened Old Rancaguan troops were routed by the heavily entrenched defenders, taking many casualities but inflicting their own upon the city. \

It seems though that the quick and easy campaign that the Old Rancaguan Military High Command had been hoping for has slipped out of reach, but the damage has been done, and the total destruction of the Avamarian mobile and militia troops in Stora and Kalmar City will be a telling factor in the battles to come.

July 3, 2006 - - Old Rancagua withstands verbal assaults of Avamar

I will quote the words of a fiery young patriotic writer, of whom I had quite a lot of respect up until now. I will not say anything, because quite simply I think they describe the situation quite well.

Excerpts from the Kalmarian Chronicles, Edition 1:

The true Kalamarians have been overtaken by the cruel tyrant El Cid who has changed our government in to a desptic regime.....I on behalf of the true and noble people of the Kalmar Islands ask for military aid of any realm that opposes the maniac rule of an evil dissident.....Glory to the true Kalmar!

It continues......I am sad Lord Legatus that you have been turned and decieved by the lies and the forked tongues of the Avamarians:

.....government of Old Rancagus under King Thalanteus has moved their capital to Kazhak. This should make it easier for them to help us! Personal thanks to Old Rancagua. In other new the Avamarian Government in exile led by Lalakis has announced that it does nto support El Cid.

It gets all the better. You too Lord Legatus were infuriated and insulted by the Avamarians and their sudden willingness to accept El Cid's rebellion as they supported it. Truth is, this is what Avamarians do, they are sick, twisted and evil, you saw it once too, before they poisoned your mind, just as they have done to poor Prometheus:

I regret to bring you news of betrayel. The Avamarians, reads as follows: Lalakis' Second Statement. Now until this point I had naught but laudations for the glowing cultural pinnacle that was Avamar.....But now, I must scold and criticize the complete stupidity and unjust words of Lalakis, last Prime Minister of Avamar....second statement that is completely opposite the first, Lalakis lists requirements for old Avamar's acceptance of the el cid hijacking....

And now you write the true feelings behind it all:

....democracy or a republic is all well and good, except of the people of Kalmar Islands are no longer there. The voice of Avamar is not the true voice of Kalmar Islands. A democracy is run by the native people, not by forigners who are unwanted.....

Avamar only takes so that they can infest, they have no real interest in co-existence with other people. They poison others and then, when their guard is down strike hard against morality:

.....saying the New Avamar that will supposedly exist on MY HOMELAND is to be exactly the same as your old Avamar.....The only similarity between Kalmar and Avamar is that they were both taken over by foreigners and the people are being tormented through war and foreign oppression......

You have described them quite well:

.....So the majority of Avamarians have to agree to usurp a peaceful ally's kingdom? That just shows the desperation and inhumanity of the Avamarians. You think Avamarians have the right to decide whether or not the Kalmarians should be taken over?.....

WHAT?!? Now this is an outrage, a disgrace to my people! I implore no Kalmarian agree to this. The Avamarians think they have the right to take over a peaceful kingdom and then allow its former nobles back in under them? You think we should forsake our struggles to regain control of our lands and swear loyalty to you? Who plan to take it from us? I will not be a slave to those who are vultures. Searching for bones of a kingdom defeated by another. They come in like the vulture to pick on and take the bones for themselves not doing the work and do as they will with those bones. The eagle of Avamarian culture has come to this vulturelike desperation? Disgusting!......

So you Lalakis think you are goign to take over a kingdom that for oen had good rulers that was supported by the people, but after that have another take the blame? If you come into KI and recognize it as new Avamar, you too are a hijacker.....You will be responsible for this CRIME as well.....Oh wait I seem to have forgotten, the Avamarians do not care so long as they have some land. If you so much as enter KI in support of El cid, you too are to blame for the takeover of a peacful, but poor and weak nation.

You are quite right Lord Legatus, so why are you helping them?:

No honest realm bound by unwritten but ever felt moral law, that guides each human being would ever support Avamar. And should this bleak future come to pass for my homeland. I shall NEVER cease fighting you Lalakis, Avamarians.

I am sad....why did you stop fighting the demon like Lalakis and his voracious Avamarians? For shame Lord Legatus, as a true Kalmarian and Royalist you should be fighting alongside us, for this new realm that we shall create in the ashes of the old if for YOU!

How can you fight against us when we are doing this for you! How can you stand how can you stand here and berate us when you share the same ideals! Avamar is a CANCER! A cancer of this Continent, stop hindering us and walk up behind that non-person One and STAB HIM IN THE HEART!

A Rogala is back in control of Kalmar!

Well, you have to hand it to the Avamarians, they really are quite sick when it comes to the insults of the realms of the East Continent, especially Old Rancagua. In addition to the insult which was dealt us when El Cid led the bloody rebellion in which many were killed, including the well-loved Jacket of Old Rancagua, the Avamarians have elected his kinsman One, in his place.

The Avamarians took advantage of the situation which El Cid handed to them on a bloody plate, they tutted and they tsked, they apologised profusely for his actions in the name of Avamar and conjoled and wheedled for months on end to prevent their destruction. Then, when the time is right they elect one of El Cid's family members into the rulership?! Come now people, do you want to make the situation worse?

VICTORY IN STORA!

In a battle which was set to be one of great significance, the armies of Kalmar, widely reputed to be a "New Avamar" in the northern isles, and Old Rancagua met face to face on the barren plains only a few miles from Kalmar City itself.

As the opposing armies matched up surprisingly, due to travel difficulties, the Avamarian troops actually out-gunned their Old Rancaguan opponents. However in their righteous might, the brave and impetuous Nobles, and their troops won to absolute victory, taking the field and capturing and wounding many Avamarian Nobles. Including Lalakis himself.

Now that the mobile combat strength of the defending Avamarian armed forces has been crushed, surely the time has come for the beginning of the arduous task of restoring Kalmar to true Kalmarians.

Rebellion in Caligus

Well, you have to say it was a long time coming. For when realms such as Caligus, come under the threat of extinction, a rebellion is almost certain to occur. However, it was not anticipated to be called by Nobles of the upper echelons of the Caligan nobility. Earlier today one, Vlad Nosferatus led an uprising against the rulership of long-standing Queen of Caligus, Lady Gywnth who gave in and surrendered her titles and the Capital of Domus to the insurgents only a few hours later.

Shortly after the rebellion was won, and Vlad was declared the new King of Caligus he, along with Ubent have begun sueing for peace amongst the realms of the north and south. As their list of allies grows thin, one must wonder when Perdan will sign a long anticipated armistice with the realms of the Northern Alliance, and the Southern Federation, whose armies are gradually encroaching upon their lands.

July 2, 2006 - - UBENT SURRENDERS!

In a shocking move today, the Prime Minister of Ubent, Zog Returns signed an armistice with the realms of the Southern Federation, bringing an end to the conflict between the realms and vastly limiting the strength of an already crippled realm. Key points of the Armistice include: the loss of the Mines of Isadril (Ubent's primary gold source), the loss of the region of Moyale (Ubent's primary food source) and the limiting of their military power to 6000 CS, mobile and militia troops in exchange for peace with the Southern Federation and protection from their powerful, albeit besieged neighbour Perdan.

July 1, 2006 - Ashforth named as New Capital of Old Rancagua

In a predetermined move, to strengthen the stretched regional maintenance teams and improve the resolute attitude of the troops committed to the north. King Dekion, in an historic move, transferred the Capital to the central city of Ashforth, a former Oligarchian stronghold. Up until recently, the Bureaucratic Corps and the Army, under the command of Lord's Johnny and Wenliang respectively, had found the task of caring for the regions on the extremities an arduous task. Now perhaps, with the Capital in a more central location, the regions of Old Rancagua will finally be able to push past the barriers which had held them in the dumps.

OLD RANCAGUA MARCH ON THE ISLES!

On June 29th, the full might of Old Rancagua's armed forces, took to the sea in an effort to sweep the Kalmar Islands free of its Avamarian Usurpers. Under the command of Lord Thalanteus and Lady Natasha, the Marshals of Oroya and Kazakh respectively, and the overall guidance of Wenliang, High Marshal of Old Rancagua and Marshal of Ashforth, along with the collective wisdom of the Military Advisory Council, it is almost certain that the Warriors of the White Tree shall find victory in the isles.

However, Avamarians have proved tough nuts to crack and through means unknown have managed to fortify the isles beyond previously expected means. But, despite their defences, it is certain the troops of Old Rancagua, in their righteous might shall fight on to victory.
