July 20, 2006 - High Marshal of Yssaria struck down! In an event which was as surprising as it was shocking the long-time High Marshal of Yssaria, Abishur, was struck down by the mysterious God which prevails over the East Continent. This lightening storm, one of the first the Continent has not seen in many months now, save for the occasional lightening bolt, let us hope that the Nobility of the East Continent can learn from his mistakes and prevent such occurences in the future. July 19, 2006 - Tournament in Ubent Earlier today, Zog Returns, the Prime Ministers of Ubent announced the first tournament since the massive gathering in Sirion to celebrate the reign of Doc and the end of Oligarch. In this tournament of Sword and Joust, for the small fee of 20 gold, each Noble has the opportunity to win 400 gold if they become Tournament champion, or 100 gold if they are the runner-up. July 18, 2006 - Peace, Poitiers and Pessimism None can say that this "peace" with Kalmar has been easy. With many in Old Rancagua still pushing to finish the job began a week and a half ago, there has been much debate and heated discussion between many of the factions within the nobility of Old Rancagua. Despite this schism though, the Nobles of Old Rancagua have continued to show devout loyalty to the realm and in a spirit which has led to the highest regional levels since the rebellion of Charger, now 122 days previous. Now comes the difficult task of retaking quite possibly the most excruciatingly difficult region of Poitiers once more for Old Rancagua. Over the past few months, Old Rancagua has attempted to takeover the region over 5 times, each resulting in faliure and rogue status. This time however, with the army still mobilised for war, perhaps the region can be taken and then held under the care of a loving Lord. Currently a brutal TO is underway, for it seems that in order to save those you love, you must hurt them in the process. I guess that the pessimism of which I speak lies with the belief that this "peace" with Kalmar can last. For it seems that as long as there is an Avamarian in the Isles who has arrived as a result of the rebellion of El Cid, and the realm remains in the hated Democracy which was a result of the brutal uprising, Old Rancagua can never really accept the realm to the north as a friend. July 13, 2006 - "Kalmarian" infiltrator NABBED WREAKING HAVOC! As the last rays of sunlight faded over the seaside region of Kazan, a former Avamarian Grand Justiciar and Oligarchian 'Noble' Julia was captured after a spree of brutal murders and property damage. This comes in direct opposition to the Cease-Fire agreement which ended immediate hostilities between the nations of Old Rancagua and Kalmar Islands only a few days ago. One has to wonder if whether this attack was merely the result of a rogue action by a disgruntled Avamarian who does not want peace, or an Infiltrator working under the command of the Kalmarian government. If it is the earlier then it is most likely that Julia will be tortured and then executed or deported for her discretions and long-standing title as a banned criminal in Old Rancagua. Should it be the latter, then this will mean most likely a resumption of the state of war between the nations of Old Rancagua and Kalmar for violation of the Cease-Fire. Currently, Chancellor Prometheus has denied his knowledge of the actions, which hints that it is a rogue action. Let us hope that for the sake of peace this is the case and Julia is merely a criminal who believes herself as being above the law. The defence of the Press's honour continues as we enter into what must be the second Journalistic War the East Continent has seen in the past few months. After only 2 battles it seems that finally Kalmar is seeing the light and beginning the long process of restoring peace between themselves and its creator. July 4, 2006 - Armistices all round Well, it is not surprising that under the extreme amount of pressure that has been placed upon the former members of the HRA, Ubent and Caligus, since the destruction of Oligarch that they would have to crack soon. With the recent reformation in Caligus, beginning peace talks between the decimated Monarchy realm and the Southern Federation, and the Armistice signed by Ubent today, severely limiting their realm's size, strength and sovereignty it seems that Perdan is very much alone in their fight agains the combined might of the Northern Alliance and the Southern Federation. Soon perhaps, we will see the first continental peace in many years of bloodshed, death and destruction. Defeat in Kalmar City Despite the crushing win in Stora, the troops of Old Rancagua were unable to capitalise upon the win, meeting defeat on the very walls of Kalmar City. July 3, 2006 - Old Rancagua withstands the verbal attacks of the Avamarians Despite the vehement verbal attacks from the assorted (still able to walk and talk) Avamarians in Stora, Legatus is by far the loudest. However, it is interesting to note that he was amongst the strongest supporters of the action to rid the Isles of the Avamarian invaders post-El Cid. A Rogala is back in control of Kalmar! With the capture of Lalakis in the battle of Stora, New Avamar have dealt another insult with the election of El Cid's relative, One as the new Chancellor.
