Personal Summary

Eoghan is of above-average height, fair of complexsion, and has a lean, muscular build. His hair, which he keeps long and tied back in a ponytail, is black and his sharp eyes are green. He is of calm demeanor, though in combat this gives way to a ferocity more often seen in wolves than in men. He trains specifically with the longsword and rides the steed Razormane, a white horse whose grey mane seems to blend together into a solid blade at a gallop, gifted to him by his aunt when he left for Astrum. Eoghan is also a devoted follower of Sanguis Astroism.

History

Early Career

  • Eoghan begain his career in Niselur during the Fell Winter, becoming a knight of Raden before its loss. He then swore fealty to Black Wolf, Lord of Under Darfix. During the fierce fighting to protect what remained of Niselur, Eoghan was deeply moved by a group of peasants who threw themselves against the undead hordes to protect their kin just as the armies of Niselur arrived; on that day he chose to follow the path of the hero, leading his men from the head of the charge. On another day of fighting, Eoghan saw the High Paladin Turin wounded and fought to his side, driving off the remaining undead; within days, he was promoted to Vice Marshal of the Silver Paladins, a position he strove to excel at.
  • When the call was sent out for volunteers to seek aid in Astrum, Eoghan was reluctant to step forward. However, seeing that there were few others, and understanding that without Astrum's aid Niselur would certainly fall, he volunteered for the mission despite his reservations. It was with great sadness that he learned that the expedition had left too late; Niselur was overrun within weeks of his arrival in Astrum, and the last nobles were forced to abandon the Golden City. He swore an oath of fealty to Duke Aram Stein of Eidulb, and strove to return Niselur to its rightful state.

Exile in Astrum

  • Eoghan became a member of the Blades of the Exiles, a special army created for the reclamation of Niselur; for his devotion to the cause he was appointed Count of Jorradith, in the budding Duchy of Gaston. He was later promoted to Vice Marshal following a failure in leadership (and subsequent demotion) of the previous appointee.
  • A deeply devoted man, Eoghan sought to unify efforts to expand Sanguis Astroism. To this end, he proposed the Order of the Palm to the Elders; sponsored by the Light of Auspicious, the Order is tasked with spreading Sanguis Astroism across all Dwilight, and Eoghan was appointed its first Grandmaster.
  • When a previous Fiduciary resigned amid controversy and protests, Eoghan put his name forth as a candidate; he won the election by a small margin, and has set about seeing to it that no region in Astrum face hunger or starvation again. He has not been as successful as he would like, but this does not stop him trying and has been widely congratulated on his success. He was reconfirmed in several elections and remained Fiduciary until the secession of Gaston duchy to form Iashalur.
  • As the Duchy of Gaston grew, Duke and Marshal of the Blade of the Exiles Turin found himself more occupied with administering the budding duchy; as such, he resigned from command and promoted then-Vice Marshal Eoghan to full Marshal, appointing Lord-in-Exile and Knight of Jorradith Jonas van Nieuwenrode as his replacement at Vice Marshal.
  • Eoghan saw action in neither the Crusade against Thulsoma nor that against Averoth as he was tasked with the defense of Astrum in the former and the defense of Gaston duchy during the latter; when war with Caerwyn broke out he was tasked with the defense of the realm from rogue incursions and again was not at the front. He wishes that he could have fought the enemies of Astrum and Sanguis Astroism but takes pride in having done his duty to keep Astrum and the budding Gaston duchy safe from incursion.
  • Amid the wars, Eoghan was elected Consul of Sanguis Astroism and served for one term, representing the lay people of the Faith alongside Consuls Allison and Bustoarsenzio. His proposal served as the basis of the Regency's electoral system and he views it as a strong system for both the clergy and the Faithful at large despite having received some protests at a lack of individual voice.

Temple of Valour

  • With the secession of Iashalur, Eoghan became its first Treasurer of the Realm and remained Marshal of her army, the Blade of the Exiles. He led the additions of Mergrathor and Ienith to the budding realm. Near the end of the first independent winter, Eoghan became deathly ill and was gripped with fever for over a week and resigned as Marshal and Treasurer, Iashalur finding capable replacements for both positions.
  • After recovering, Eoghan participated in the Reclamation of Darfix in the second year of Iashalur, and was appointed Vice Marshal of the newly-formed Royal Legion. He directs the army in the defense of the realm, though he strongly desires expansion with renewed vigor.
  • Eoghan returned to the Elder Council as a Consul (alongside Alaron Nebehn of Astrum and Katayanna Ogren of Kabrinskia) after one term of absence; the Council now begins the arduous task of overhauling the Charter of the Church of Sanguis Astroism, which is in dire need of clear revision.
  • In the third year of Iashalur, Eoghan was elected High Paladin of the realm. Shortly thereafter the Duke of Gaston went missing, and Eoghan was appointed as his replacement, the first Duke of House O'Faolain.
