Anne had stuck herself in her room for a few days, and refused to let anyone enter. Thus, it was surprise when she came out and handed her scribe a message, "Cathy, make sure this letter gets sent to my sister." "What?" This was most peculiar. "But you hate your sister! Why would you want to write a letter to her?" "Just do it." She walked down the hall, disappearing from view. It would be tempting to open the letter and find out what it contained, but Cathy knew better than that. Still, she wondered what her Dame could be doing that she would want her sister involved.

Greetings, Nobles of Tara, My sister has given me word that she intends to betray Tara to follow some vikings to another realm. She appears to have some sense of loyalty, because she wants me to take her place in Meldeen so the 'pigeons' won't take over and hold Count Aurthur hostage. I assume that means some sort of group of enemy infiltrators, but I am not entirely sure. Could anyone alert me as to the meaning of this phrase?

I suppose I should thank you, since you've saved me the trouble of explaining that I am leaving with the Norlanders, but you weren't supposed to tell anyone yet. And by pigeons, I meant actual pigeons. Y'know, the bird kind.
