Histories of the offices of Morek

The Office of Grandmaster

• The first Grandmaster was Deverka Cryfdwr, elected unanimously in Jan. 1008. He reigned from Jan 1008-Jun 1009. His reign saw 1 unsuccessful rebellion against his authority by Zul'jin Stormreaver. His reigned was marked by libertarian leadership, motivated by social and feudal contract rather than sovereign prerogative. Deverka is credited with much of Morek's current values and political schemata. Deverka died in battle with monsters in Niefel on an envoy to Summerdale.
• The second Grandmaster was Sammael Haine. He ruled from Jun 1008-present. (please add details)

The Office of High Inquisitor

• The first High Inquisitor was Mathurin Hossenffer who ministered from Jan. 1008 to ?. His administration was marked by competent but undistinguished leadership due to lack of external stimulus during the short time he was in office, with some small clashes with secular authority over ambiguous secular law. Mathrin Hossenffer abdicated his position upon taking up the call of Sanguis Astroism and becoming both the Bishop of Caiyun and the Prophet of Sanguis Astroism.
• The second High Inquisitor was Aram Stien. He ministered from times unknown, but reigned for roughly a month and ended soon after the rebellion. His position was considered temporary while a decision for the true High inquisitor was being decided. His administration was marked by zeal, adequate competence,lenience to rebels and a disrespect for prompt recognition of higher authorities, both religious and secular. Aram Stien abdicated his position after much protest from many sources for not doing so when asked to leave by those that had instated him for temporary office.
• The third High Inquisitor was Allison Kabrinski, appointed by His Holiness Mathurin Hossenfeffer. Her administration lasted from ? to the 26th day of Dec. 1008. It was marked by energetic pursuit for lawbreaking and personal, objective reform. Her administration ended at the same time of the joining of Springdale Duchy to Morek.
• The fourth High Inquisitor was Anabellium 'Runner' West. Her administration was from the 26th day of Dec. 1008 to the 14th day of April 1009. Her administration was marked by the polarization of Morek around the two ducal bodies of Donghaiwei and Springdale as well as stringent law enforcement. It also involved the overseeing of many controversial debates over the role of religion within the realm between the former Dalians and the Morekians.
• The fifth High Inquisitor was Branthorpe Silverbear. His administration was from the 14th day of April to present.

The Office of Ordermarshal

• The first Ordermarshal was Horus Darkfire. His administration was from Jan. 1008 to the Monster Invasion. His administration was marked by aggressive expansion. Horus Darkfire resigned during the early days of the monster invasion, retiring from service in Morek.
• The second Ordermarshal was Vesuvis Addridae. His administration was from ? to the 3rd week of Dec. 1008. It was marked by significantly more conservative strategy during the height of the Monster Invasion.
• The third Ordermarshal was Medugnatos Stormcrow. His administration was from the 3rd week of Dec. 1008 to late Jan. 1009 and managed to conduct several successful conflicts, with, for the first time, human adversaries.
• The fourth Ordermarshal was Maria Aelradir. Her administration was from late Jan. 1009 to the 3rd week of Feb. 1009 and focused around defending the south while keeping the peace after the explosion of politics around this same time.
• The fifth Ordermarshal was Inkrav Donkeyvich from the 3rd week of Feb. 1009 to the 1st week of May 1009. His administration is marked by the renewed focus on expansion, with the new drive toward Unterstrom.
• The sixth Ordermarshal was Bustoarsenzio Peristaltico. His administration lasted from the 1st week of May 1009 to present. His administration involved the securing of Unterstrom and overseeing the securing of the surrounding regions. Under his lead Muspelheim, fallen into anarchy as a consequence of the fall of Virovene, was annexed to Morek.

The Office of Coffermaster

• The first Coffermaster was Marrick Montrez. His adminsitration was from Jan. 1008 to Zul'Jin's rebellion. His administration was marked by the capable acumen. His administration was cut short when he was captured by Zul'Jin's forces. He stated is disinterest in being reinstated after the rebellion, preferring to help establish The Order of Astrum.
• The second Coffermaster was Inkrav Donkeyvich. His administration was from the Zul'Jin Rebellion to ?. His administration was marked by proactive, sweeping reform, specifically of food scutage to a highly centralized system and tax reform discouraging hoarding of wealth.
• The third Coffermaster was Alayna Costella. Her administration was from ? to May 1009 and is focused on bridging the cultural gap between Donghaiwei and Springdale. SHe resigned during the latter stages of the winter famine of May-Jun 1009. He administration saw the dilution of the offices power by a global political movement(IE game mechanic)

Local Histories

Donghaiwei

• Donghaiwei was established as the capitol of Morek in January 1008.
• Donghaiwei is a Duchy
• It was ruled by Deverka Cryfdwr from Jan. 1008-Present, who was Grandmaster at the time of his reign.
• At an unknown time, Deverka Cryfdwr established the Order of the Maddening Star, based in Donghaiwei.
• Donghaiwei saw an ill fated rebellion by Zul'Jin Stormreaver in Mar. 1008 and a small battle issued.
• In Early Nov. 1008, Deverka Cryfdwr married Allison Kabrinski who became the new Duchess of Donghaiwei. A tourney of sword and lance was also held.
• On April 14th, Duchess Allison declared that she was to spend a few months in meditation, as to draw her self closer to the stars. The ducal seat was thus passed to Anabellium West.

Donghai

• Donghai is one of the 3 original regions of Morek and is within the Duchy of Donghaiwei.
• Donghai is a County
• It was ruled by Allions Kabrinski from Jan. 1008-?
• At a now forgotten time, Allison Kabrinski abdicated rulership of Donghai to her knight Maura Hart for the purpose of holding Unterstrom.
• It was Ruled by Maura Hart from Jan. 1008-Nov. 1008
• It was ruled by Medugnatos Stormcrow from Nov. 1008-?; Medugnatos was appointed by Allison Kabrinski.
• It was ruled by Maria Aelradir from ?-present; Maria was appointed by Medugnatos

Linhai

• Linhai us one of the original regions of Morek and is within the Duchy of Donghaiwei.
• Linhai is a Viscountcy
• It was ruled by Brance Indirik from Jan. 1008- unknown
• In Morek's early history, Linhai was known as the source for the vast majority of Morek's soldiers.
• At an unkown time, Brance Indirik abdicated the viscountcy to his knight Madilynn Helron for the purpose of establishing Astrum.
• It was ruled by Madilynn Helron from ?-Present.

Zhongyuan

• Zhongyuan was conquered peacefully by Morek early in its history.
• Zhongyuan is a Earldom
• At one time in the distant past, Zhongyuan was destined to become the site of Sanguis Astroisms birth, but this was not to be.
• Zhongyuan was known as the home of heros in Morek's early history.
• It first ruler was Liandra Greywolf, she reigned from early in Morek's history to an unknown time. The reason of her loss of power is unknown.
• It was ruled by Megdugnatos Stormcrow from ?-Nov. 1008, whom abdicated to take power in Donghai.
• Zhongyuan is known as a major corridor of movement through the Duchy of Donghaiwei.

Caiyun

• Caiyun was converted peacefully to Morek in it's early history.
• Caiyun is a Bishpric.
• Caiyun is a protectorate, not held to feudal scutage, and is only part of Morek superficially.
• Caiyun was held by Mathurin Hossenfeffer from Circa Feb. 1008-?, who was Prophet of Sanguis Astroism during his reign.
• When the Prophet left Morek to lead Corsanctum, he passed authority in Caiyun to Marchioness, and then Light of the Austere, Varchilde Esotericus.
• Caiyun is the birthplace of Sanguis Astroism.
• The Bishop of Caiyun has differed authority over the Warders of the Temple in conjunction with it's sponsor Allison Kabrinski.
• In its day, Caiyun was home to the largest temple complex of Sanguis Astroism to be found anywhere on Dwilight.
