Demon worshipers. Trapper shook his head and lifted a hand to his temple. Not enough that they kiss the arses of the same creatures out to destroy humanity... now they're making deals with Necromacers for post-mortal care. The pool of rainwater spiraled out of sight as he lifted the clogged sewer grate and set it quietly off to the side. The gaunt man worked mechanically, checking the leather straps of his armor, loosening the swordbreaker in it's sheath, lighting the custom made mace that doubled as a torch. Lastly, the stolen demon worshiper robes that had inadvertently led him to this trail dropped to the rain soaked cobblestones, only to be kicked down the sewer opening. Trapper quickly followed, pausing only to replace the weed-clogged grate.

The way to the Necromacer's hidden chambers was mostly uneventful, the adventurer from the tavern, Asuka, had given him a good map. A quiet tap filled the passage as Trapper rapped smartly on the half-rotten door, competing with the constant drip of water. An younger man greeted him, not quite what Trapper had been expecting, pale white hair and piercing violet eyes. Judging by the slight point of his ears, Trapper judged there must be some Siron blood in him. Long way from there... The man eyed him, clutching a gnarled oak staff tightly in one hand. The two skeletons in the room seemed to jump at the staff's slightest motion. The necromancer spoke in a raspy, halting voice, like a dog scared by it's own bark.

30 silver to become a skeleton, 50 for a zombie and a full gold piece for ghouls and ghasts. Payment up front, no leaving the money in a will.

Trapper's mouth curved into a gruesome smile, as he ran the dull tip of the swordbreaker through the other man's chest. What's the price of life? Trapper laughed, even as he steeled himself against the oncoming tide of hellish undead.

Order of the Cold Flame

From the Notes of Aurelius Madigan, Grand Wizard of Thalmarkin and of the Order of the Cold Flame

Discovered by Seeker - now Master of the Elements - Trapper Everland while delivering the King's justice onto abominations, daimon worshipers, and necormancers, the Long-Lost Staff of Doom was being used by the Cult for purposed nefarious and malevolent. Seeker Everland slew a necromancer of Siron descent below the street of Unger who utilized the Staff fur purposes of undead-command and animation of corpses - offenses punishable by the Laws of the North.

The Staff itself does not appear initially impressive. It is formed out of gnarled oak wood, hard as iron and immune to blemishes and defacing, and measuring at six feet long. The Staff is set at the top with a gem of dark green - a disconcerting color not usually found in nature that seems to give all who look upon it a sense of deep foreboding.

The properties of the Staff observed by Trapper Everland are, of course, forbidden to even attempt, though I will attempt to attain special permission from His Majesty. I am certain he will see the merit in closely examining the object's powers.
