Decision

Yleina clutched the letter to her bosom, as she closed her eyes and fell back onto the bed. The last line of the letter resonated within her mind, bringing a wide smile to her serene face.

...P.S. Perhaps when I have returned to Idapur we will be able to meet under changed circumstances....

If that did not suggest his interest in her, then she could not call herself a woman! Changed circumstances... Oh, how those two words rolled off her tongue so sweetly, bringing to mind walks in the garden again, and drinking wine in the cool shade... But please, no more numbered pigs running loose this time! Once was enough already!

Her mind was finally made. After she sold the various items acquired through over a decade of adventuring, Yleina would formally announce her return to the active nobility. Then, the Aenil willing, she would quickly learn the finer arts of espionage and train daily to become the best infiltrator the Far East has ever seen!

The Blademistress was beginning to get tired of the monotony of monster and undead hunting anyway; the adventuring life no longer brought excitement and satisfaction to her heart, as it once did. Perhaps it was due to the political atmosphere of the time, or perhaps she was just finally maturing. Heck, I'd say she was merely getting older, but I want to keep my head on my shoulders, in case she ever finds this manuscript and reads it...

Ahem, anyway, suffice it to say, there shall be another Lightstar leading troops into battle for the near future--at least until she gains enough recognition and experience on the field to be accepted into the academy for the darker arts. And this one is much prettier to look at, if I don't say so myself!
