Unsanctioned Looting

"What?! Who ordered the attack against the villagers of Hosiel?" Xarnelf glared at the soldier who had reported the event with a face that had not been quite so pale as it was now.

"Uh, m'lord, I don't know. The fleeing woman we caught up with was too scared to remember any telling details." The man shifted back and forth on his feet uncomfortably.

Narrowing his eyes, the Duke dismissed the man and began to write a note to all those nobles still in Hosiel for a meeting regarding this grave transgression. He was not a happy camper, for the orders from the Marshal were explicit for those with an interest in looting: damage only the military infrastructure.

Although Xarnelf did not agree with looting of any kind, he had not commented on the matter until now, in light of this report of slaughtering the innocent.

(Roleplay from Ingus Hensepens)

Ingus read the letter he received from Xarnelf.

It stated that he was also not happy with the looting in Hosiel.

Although Xarnelf and al the other GA had no business being in Hosiel he appreciated the concern for the people in Hosiel. His people.

While reading the leter a servent antered the room.

"new reports sir."

He took the letter and read:

Tax collectors and wealthy locals in Hosiel have been attacked and robbed by Greater Aenilia forces!

Well it seemed that not everybody were honoring the chain of cokmmand in GA army.

He took a paper and wrote

Sir Xarnelf,

you thought for the people of Hosiel are appreciated. However I still receive report of looting. Perhaps you and your Marshall can bring some sence into the looters. Afterall, you are still attacking an region of a realm you are neutral with. We only attack a realm were we at war with.

On behalf of the people of Hosiel, my thanks.

Ingus Hensepens Count of Hosiel.

He called the servant and gave him the letter.

"Go to Hosiel and try to find Sir Xarnelf Lightstar. Give him this letter. Although they are looting our region you don't have to fear him."

The servant left.

Xarnelf looked the messenger up and down for several moments before speaking. To his credit, the servant maintained a passive face and did not seem to shake in fear or discomfort at all.

"You are brave to come here alone, good man, but fear not, for you shall be unharmed. Please, return to your lord and inform him that I will do what I can to dissuade those who intend to continue looting. However, I make no promises. You may leave."

The Duke signaled one of his attendants to give the man a gold piece for his troubles before returning to writing in his journal.
