"What should I do, my liege?"

"Oh stop being silly Ada... Just call me Xarn. We are family, after all."

Adaria looked down shyly and nodded. "Okay, my li--I mean, um, Xarn. Heheh..."

The hero snorted before explaining his battle plans. "Well, I shall lead the charge, of course, and it will be in the wedged formation that Tharion and I have perfected over time. You will bring your men in from the flank and attack those enemies that we cut off to your side. Within moments, the speed and surprise of our charge should cleave their lines in twain, as long as everything goes well. Any questions?"

The girl chewed her lower lip for a bit, as she stared down the hill at the tiny line of dots in the distance--their target.

"No need to worry, little Ada!" Xarnelf remarked and then guffawed, in response to her continued silence. He patted her on the shoulder. "I have done this many times, and I can assure you, the day shall be ours!"

"Okay, cousin Xarn, if you say so..."

"Well... that was an interesting experience!" Adaria grinned at Xarnelf. "Even though my men suffered quite a few casualties, barely trained as they were, I think they did okay, right?"

"Indeed, lass, indeed! What did I tell you, huh? Nothing to worry about! Now, be a good girl and send some scouts out to the surrounding regions, would you? Then join me for breakfast!"

She winked and called her captain over to find the scouts...
