Being the oldest city on the continent, Remton has a labyrinthine network of tombs and catacombs running all around and beneath the streets from the old town to the Wolfen Gate, with rumours that they spread even further to the neighbouring port city of Lasop. Many famous families of Arcaea have the bones of their ancestors resting here, notable amongst them the Crowleys and Haerthornes. It was in these depths that Meredith came across a shining blade of seemingly untarnished silver and set with a thumb-sized ruby, burning with a raging flame in the brandished metal of the the gold inlaid in it's pommel. Unfortunately when she had removed the sword from the firm grasp of the statue which held it became dull and worn, the power inherent in the blade dimming away until it became like a normal weapon.

Later, with preperations for the final Arcaean assault on Niel resonating the sounds armouries and blacksmiths throughout the fortress of Nocaneb, Duke Tenal Quasath spied it amongst the racks of swords and spears lining the wall of the strongholds barracks. After requesitioning it he later gave it to Caim Haerthorne, the son of his deceased friend and ally Lord Protector Aerywyn, whom was lying wounded during a lull between the successes of the Arcaean army in their siege.
