Caligan Courier Cowards Print Lies In Newspaper!
The Caligan Courier has returned to printing news upon the East Continent. Unfortunately, their editor is cowardly hiding in anonymity. But who would blame such a noble when they spew such lies about Itorunt and Perdan? Or when they begin their August reporting in September

Just the other day Regina Morgana ordered her troops to suicide on forces of Ibladesh and Ambassador Zoe who was leaving Caligus. Ambassador Zoe did not touch the men even though they attacked forces to stay neutral. Caligus finds this very offensive that their Ambassador was attacked by foreign troops and a leader of a nation. I dont know what the ploy of the battle was for. Either they have gone mad or they are desperately trying to seek outside help.

First, the Caligan Courier neglects to mention the fact that a peaceful meeting between the Pontifex and Regina was planned. It was the Pontifex's vile treachery that resulted in Regina Morgana being attacked. Ambassador and Countess Zoe Agenor was a member of the force that attacked Regina Morgana, though it is true she never had an opportunity to have her men attack the Regina's unit. But the fact remains she was not neutral in the battle. Furthermore, the Caligan Courier again neglects the fact that the ambassador and lord of Caligus was part of the forces that betrayed a diplomatic meeting for cruel bloodletting of a royal.

Twelve hours following the battle, a second message was recieved from the duke of Itorunt, Hamilton Vita, insulting the honour of Caligus.

One cannot insult a realm that has no honor in the first place.

The battle report shows the treachery of Pontifex Sinted in organizing the battle so that Regina Morgana would be framed for attacking them when those troops should have left the region for the diplomatic meeting. The Itorunt Informer has never claimed that Zoe's troops fought Regina Morgana's troops, but that they were part of the force that attacked Regina Lefanis. And Zoe's troops did ride towards Regina Morgana's troops.

Report from Sinted Dacara (5 days, 8 hours ago)
(Personal Message to Morgana Lefanis)
Dear Regina Morgana,

I would gladly consider a diplomatic meeting in Itor Boss to discuss the reduction of looting in our regions. It has hindered both our war efforts and I'm glad to see commoners are being valued as the important place in our society they are. I will have the troops leave the region shortly before your arrival so that we may discuss in safety and privacy.

Regards,

Sinted Dacara
Pontifex Maximus of Ibladesh

As you can see, this was sent about 3 days in advance of the disastrous betrayal of Itorunt's Regina by Ibladesh's dishonorable, vile Pontifex. In addition, you can clearly see the worship Ibladesh holds for commoners.

But is this all the Caligan Courier spews forth as lies? No! Instead they wish to malign and backstab their long-time ally Perdan.

King Sangue,

The following incident has occured in Moyale. I am sad to report there is only your infiltrator in the known region. I will also attach a scout report in confirmation of the evidence.

Lord temporarily absent (8 minutes ago) An assassination attempt on Evelyn Dembonez, Countess of Moyale has left her seriously wounded.

Nobles without unit Evelyn Dembonez, Countess of Moyale
Dewey Stienski (Knight of Perdan)

Scout Report (Moyale)

Thank you im sure you will handle it properly

doombringer Menethil
King of Caligus

Could Caligus not consider the incompetence of Countess Evelyn with a blade? Reports show she spends much time in region maintenance and food trading. We all know how incompetent courtiers and traders are with blades. I would daresay it is quite likely she encountered an accident. It could also be that some anarchists saw a chance to stab their unwanted lord and took it.

Furthemore, there is no reason to believe Dewey would stab a Caligan. He has not been reported as one who stabs nobility or sabotages a realm's actions since Beluaterra. In fact, I would even say he likely swore off such actions upon joining the East Continent. Could it not be he moved to visit with his relative, Arch Priest Rye of Perdan? An Arch Priest known for his honor throughout East Continent? Could Dewey be making a new lifestyle now?

And yet the Caligan Courier further stains itself with lies, dishonor, and betrayal regarding the relatives of their long-time ally's Arch Priest because they can't face the fact that their courtier and trader lords could have accidentally seriously wounded themselves or are incapable of defending themselves against anarchists?

Regina Morgana Lefanis Assaulted by Caligus!
Today, Regina Morgana Lefanis was assaulted by a Caligan Countess, Pontifex Sinted, and an Itoruntian traitor!

First, news of the battle reports that Caligus and Ibladesh assaulted our beloved Regina in Itor Boss, a rightful region of Itorunt Duchy, with over 200 men compared to the Regina's small troop of 20. Such an unnecessary number of hostile troops for what was to be a peaceful meeting between Pontifex Sinted and Regina Morgana to discuss the reduction of disastrous looting across the regions. Instead of the two royals meeting for the beginning of talks regarding the ending of the senseless violence against the peasants, Pontifex Dacara cowardly sought to work with Itorunt traitors and Caligan backstabbers to attack our dear Regina! Who knows if they sought to capture, wound, or worse yet kill Regina Lefanis!?

I'm sure the Pontifex's mother was more manly than her cowardly excuse for a son is. Let it be noted that this author has seen the ruler flee from battle more than once.

In addition to the Pontifex's innate dishonor, she seeks to work with the even more dishonorable Caligans and those who betray their realms! The Caligan Countess, Zoe Agenor, is also a diplomat. Is it not suspicious how a Caligan diplomat(and lord) plotted with Pontifex Sinted to attack our honorable Regina? Or how someone who was a member of Itorunt only two weeks ago was part of the plot? And this same traitor dared order an attack upon the one she hailed as queen a short time ago?

Was Regina Morgana endangered? No, thank the Southern Wind! Her Royal Guard saved her life by laying down their own for their much esteemed commander! This goes to show the devotion of Itoruntians to their beloved ruler! Even as we speak, Regina Morgana Lefanis is on her way to safety.

But this does not change the facts of this event! Instead of peacefully meeting with a fellow ruler, Pontifex Dacara cowardly and dishonorably plotted with traitors and known back-stabbers alike to see Regina Morgana harmed! The Caligans involved were of even higher importance as they were lords and ambassadors. An ambassador of Caligus is engaging with Pontifex Dacara in a battle against Regina Morganis. This is an assault against royalty and fellow rulers should be highly concerned about the actions of Ibladesh's and Caligus' lack of regard for royalty, honor, or peaceful meetings between royals. Caligus and Ibladesh are indeed a threat to honorable royals everywhere! I only hope that Ibladeshians and Caligans have their beds infested by the fleas of a thousand beasts and that Ibladeshians becomes synonymous with cowardice and Caligans with betrayal.

Declaration of Caligan Crimes Against Itorunt Issued by Duke/Ambassador Hamilton Vita and Regina Morgana Lefanis
After continual annoyance by Countess and Ambassador Zoe Agenor of Nascot, Hamilton Vita wrote the following declaration which was just signed by Regina Morgana hours ago.

Itorunt hereby declares Caligan diplomats expelled for the following reasons.

1. We already have closed borders and diplomats should not be excepted to this.
2. A history of betrayal towards the soverign realms of the East Continent, including Itorunt, proving their innate dishonor.
3. Feeding Itorunt's enemies in times of war and allowing them to prosper when they would otherwise starve.
4. Welcoming insane Tuchanon IV nobility into their realm and letting them retain the duchy after much work by Itorunt and Perdan to destroy their realm(this when Itorunt and Perdan had a history of good relations with Caligus and is evidence of more betrayal).

Therefore, Caligan diplomats are as unwelcome as any other nobility of Caligus and lack any immunity to prosecution for crimes against the Itorunt Crown.

Turnover in Titles
First, Queen Morgana revised the titles of the council. Previously, it had been King/Queen, General, Judge, and Banker. Now its Rex/Regina, Grand Marshal, Arbiter, and Treasurer. The Crown is elected if position is unoccupied with each noble having one vote. It is my opinion that this be changed to duke representative so that Itorunt can have maintained stability in the Crown. The Crown is strong in power while the other offices are balanced.

Over the last week, two prominent nobles stepped down and renounced their claim upon their offices. This allowed new people to push for their claims to be fulfilled. This also spilled over into the army having a new marshal and vicemarshal.

Formerly:
Grand Marshal: Thray Walsh
Duke of Itorunt City: Thray Walsh
Duke of Xavax: Gothan Einherjar
Marshal: Arkantos Dell
Vicemarshal: Alandor Mowbray

New:
Grand Marshal: Epaminondas Cranioduro
Duke of Itorunt City: Hamilton Vita
Duke of Xavax: Arkantos Dell
Marshal: Viseslav Stublic
Vicemarshal: Epaminondas Cranioduro

May their reigns be as long as Regina Morgana's! May Regina Morgana live forever!

Summaried Updates
Over the past two weeks, Itorunt has been going through some quiet upheavals. Ibladesh has, unfortunately, taken advantage of this and scored two successful campaigns in our lands. Furthermore, they've executed an Itoruntian, Colin Kelly Kelly. Despite this, Itorunt has not lost a region we had at the beginning of the campaigns. In fact, it was reported that loyalty to Itorunt rose in one region despite looting by Ibladesh.

Interview with Emperor Shady Soulja of the Obsidian Islands regarding Obsidian Islands' Culture
Over the last few days, I offered to interview any of the rulers for the Itorunt Informer. Only Emperor Shady Soulja replied. I had just written an article condemning Ibladesh's "Empire" and I was curious how Shady Soulja's title was justified. It brought on a discussion of the islands' different methods and culture and so the interview was adjusted towards the culture of Obsidian Islands.

Hamilton Vita: What is the typical thought pattern of the nobility?
Shady Soulja: On how we can make the Islands a better place for not only themselves but for the people and anyone who wants to visit as well.

HV: What are frequent discussions?
SS: Mainly about the future. Who shall be apppointed lord, war plans, ally plans, and possible elections.

HV: What goals do they see for the future of themselves, their regions, duchies, and realm?
SS: We are always looking for ways to improve the regions and themselves. Perhaps better training, more experiance, or even some just enjoy the simple task of monster/undead killing.

HV: What are their values?
SS: Life, being safe and happy. Also, in many minds, religion, we allow Church of Humanity and Dagdaism to preach in our lands.

HV: How do men and women interact?
SS: Just as normally as men and men, or women and women. We do not like to hold any restrictions on the nobility here, as we look to have them grow to their full potential.

HV: What is the experience of the noble youth?
SS: One of growth and knowledge. We provide them with all the training they need. We try to build off loyalty first, and we try to bring our nobles up who believe in helping the islands first.

HV: What religions are dominant?
SS: Dagdaism and Church of Humanity.

HV: How do the nobility entertain themselves?
SS: Kalmar is quite a festive city, Chaos Temple is also very lively under Duke Vince, and when the monsters/undead are not around we do a lot in Bastad as well. We also provide many training centers, and troop training.

HV: Where do they retreat to find quiet solitude?
SS: Most go to their estates for such. Some go to church instead as well.

HV: Where do they fraternize with other nobility?
SS: Mostly in Kalmar or Chaos Temple, also known to do a bit of traveling.

HV: What game is available for hunting?
SS: Stora and Alvaret have the best game, the southern island also is not bad for those with a bit lesser skill.

HV: What food do they eat?
SS: We mainly eat what we catch from the rivers and ocean, with a bit of a mix from the animals we catch. We also have a diverse farming system set up in most of the regions as well.

HV: What holidays are observed?
SS: There are not many notable holidays currently here.

HV: What clothes do they wear?
SS: We wear a lighter cloth when not preparing for battle. It helps as the islands are usually hotter then the mainland, with more humidity from all the waterways.

HV: What styles of architecture are dominant?
SS: Mainly small, secure structures are best for us. We have a great many volcanoes, along comes unstable landscapes. We must be prepapred for eruptions, earthquakes, flooding, and tidal waves at anytime.

Thank you to the emperor for his time. He also noted he is not doing well and we wish that the Four Winds of the Triumvirate will bless and heal him.

"Imperial" Pontifex Sinted Dacara a Coward!
About a week after our own Queen Morgana Lefanis stayed behind the lines in Enubec with a smaller force, the cowardly "Imperial" Pontifex of Ibladesh flees from Enubec rather than fight a small segment of Itorunt's glorious military!

Furthermore, the peasants are becoming accustomed to Itorunt's dominino of Enubec as fewer and fewer bother to raise up arms against our rightful taxation of their region. Furthermore, I personally have seen the end of the evil shrine to the Church of Ibladesh. Itorunt marches on to victory!

Ibladesh Incompetent At Retreat!
Within the last two days, we grew sick of Ibladesh's petty looting and decided to take action. We marched into Ejarr Puutl, but there was no one to fight. Alas, perhaps the Ibladeshians had merely not realized we wished to fight. Oh, and kill the ungrateful fools.

So we tried again by marching into Jariedma. And this time it became apparent. Ibladesh was filled with cowards! They could fight farmers, miners, loggers, merchants, and bureaucrats. But be presented by an Itorunt soldier, let alone hundreds of them, commanded by brave Itorunt nobles and the "Imperial" armies of Ibladesh fled in cowardly terror. Even worse, some failed at that. A select few nobles did not have the competency to retreat. Victory is assured!

Ibladesh Empire a Joke
I have recently learned that Ibladesh refers to themselves as an empire. This is truly a laughing matter. East Island has surely seen empires in the past. Sirion is a long-standing one. Perdan has long been Sirion's equal counter-weight. Fontan achieved such status briefly. Caligus, unfortunatly, could be considered an empire, though an internally rotten and corrupt one, today.

How does Ibladesh judge itself to be an empire? Let us analyze the various facets of being an empire starting with the most obvious: regions. Ibladesh has ten regions. A sizable theocracy, surely, but hardly an empire. If one were to consider ten regions empire-worthy, East Island would be filled with empires! Fontan has more regions than Ibladesh; perhaps they've reachieved empire-status? I wonder how Perdan, Caligus, and Sirion would react to such news. I doubt any of them consider Fontan an empire. And let us consider the numerous other ten region realms. Westmoor an empire? Their rule is a Queen, not an Empress. In fact, Ibladesh's enemy has ten regions! Is Itorunt an empire? It shall now be known as an empire due to Ibladesh's foolish belief that they are an empire. And, unlike Ibladesh, we will become a true empire. What of the non-empire realms if we assume Ibladesh's ten regions count? Two realms that are not empires are left. How laughable a concept of an island dominated by so many "empires". But let us carry on in our analysis.

Do noble populations make Ibladesh an empire? Fontan and Westmoor, again, have more nobles than Ibladesh and Itorunt is only one noble behind. A laughable concept, again.

What of population? Again, Westmoor and Fontan have more population than Ibladesh and most accounts would not consider them empires. Ibladesh's hubris is fully realized at this moment in titling them an empire. And what disgrace when such an empire falls? It shall be sweetly delicious.

Ibladesh: Weak and Incompetent
As usual, the fat nobles of Ibladesh have failed in an attack. Our brave Queen Morgana and two other nobles have been looting Enubec in order to teach the peasants who are the true lords. Ibladesh decided to interfere with our divine actions, but were punished by the Southern Wind when their attack failed miserably and resulted in catastrophic losses to those that made it to the battlefield. Many more Ibladeshians failed to even succeed in traveling to the battle. They then attempted a second attack, this time stooping so low as to ally with rogues. And of course, they failed miserably. Typical of the fat nobles who sit in their cities and churches growing complacent while Itorunt's armies march to success!

Meanwhile, their army sits in Itor Boss with intermittent looting, unable to fully commit. I suspect many of them are merely lost and can't figure out how to either retreat around the lake's land route back to their precious White City, caused by the feces of pigeons, or forgot how to coordinate with their navy to transport them home. Incompetence even in retreat!

Itoricon.jpg   August 1, 2009   Itoricon.jpg
Enemies Captured
Only a day or two after arriving in Itorunt, Hamilton Vita and Eiram Nalatam, both followers of the Triumvirate, oversaw the capture of the heretical priest, Earl Theuderik Cuvelier. Glory be to the Southern Wind for Eiram's duty to the Triumvirate and Itorunt!

Additionally, Boran Viper, a Caligan infiltrator, was captured sneaking around the manor of Countess Annya Smallsheep. Later reports included a poison-tipped dagger on his body.

Contests for Glory
Aside from Itorunt's glorious contest, destined for victory, with Ibladesh, we have a tamer, much more minor, yet still important, contest. With the founding of the paper, I would like to offer the Itoruntian high nobles an opportunity to have their name etched into glory and history. Come up with a quote suitable, by sending a letter to Hamilton Vita, for the Itorunt Informer and it and your name will be on the top right corner of the paper! In addition, anyone designing a banner, chosen by Hamilton Vita, for the paper will be honored with an issue named in their honor.

Return of Hamilton Vita
Only a few short days ago, the famous Hamilton Vita has returned to East Island. Already, he is on a path to glory, through the destruction of Ibladesh. Within a matter of hours, he had become trusted by the Queen. And now he is refounding the newspaper of his great uncle, Aurum Bishamon. He would also like to offer the ability to write for the Itorunt Informer to any who are interested.
