Demon of Dwilight, Chapter Three: The Final Curtain
The Demon Prince's Banishment and the Exposure of the Plot to Overthrow the King, leading to the end of the Demon of Dwilight
When the Demon Prince realized he could never succeed in D’Hara without overthrowing the Dragon King, he decided to begin organizing a rebellion. The first to join his collegiate was his Marquis, Rathan Himoura. Meanwhile, Duke Mathias Ridder and Lady Sorsha McDowell had become engaged. The Marquis, being one of the suitors of Lady Sorsha, wanted to interfere with their plans. To celebrate Duke Mathias’ engagement, Duke Hexic invited Royal Fiduciary Lycan and Prince Bowie to join in a mock kidnapping of Duke Mathias which would bring him to a secret bachelor party on a boat near Port Nebel. The Marquis thought this would be a good chance to disrupt Duke Mathias’ plans and with the cooperation of the Prince engaged in a real kidnapping. Duke Mathias was held on a boat for a few days while the party guests were attacked by Sir Drakos’ pirates, and while the Black Lions surrounded Port Nebel waiting for the kidnappers to port. During this, Prince Bowie was occupied with another female fancy. He was not directly involved with the kidnapping and when he exited the party boat he was halted and strong armed by the Black Lions. While the kidnapping occurred, Lady Sorsha was herself nabbed by a secret assailant, who turned out to be Rathan in disguse, and poisoned. Rathan left her recovering in the Dizzy Duck inn near the port. Searching for his femme, Bowie accidentally discovered Lady Sorsha. He was then taken to the Capital for questioning about the kidnapping.
Since Rathan was going to be charged and convicted of this incident, he decided to expose the plot to overthrow the King, incriminating himself and Bowie as rebels. After a short discussion with Confessor Kisharianda, Bowie was arrested and in put in the dungeon. Before the trial for Rathan and Bowie could commence, Bowie was blasted out of the dungeon by Captain Volkrad, the captain of Bowie’s Black Army and they fled east towards Sallowtown. Rathan was tried by the Confessor and fined 150 gold. She then warned Bowie that if he did not return to her court he would be banished. Ignoring her demand, Bowie finally reached Qubel Lighthouse. After a short battle with monsters, he was confronted by Duke Hexic who accused him of betraying his trust and friendship, and then demanded a duel to the death. The only way Bowie could cross the channel was through Duke Hexic so the Demon Prince accepted. At sunrise, they would fight to the death in the circuit arena Lighthouse Heights. The epic duel, already legendary in all of Dwilight, took place in the Summer of 8YD (or the 26th of September, 2009).
To everyone's surprise, the Demon of Dwilight survived the duel with Duke Hexic. Confessor Kisharianda then placed an immediate ban on him. As Bowie was healing, he discovered the worst truth from the last person he wanted to hear it from. The D'Haran's had decided to spite him. He would try to turn it to his advantage, but the sands of time restricted him from his last hope.
Now the Demon of Dwilight wanders, seeking a new sanctuary and a new future. Only fate knows his ultimate destiny and the reason he survived such a momentous clash. Perhaps the desert or the mountains will be more profitable for him, and more tolerant.
