Lucas is the youngest son of Jack and Brigid. Being the youngest son, but not the youngest child, Lucas was oft overlooked in the social circle of his parents. He would receive nothing from his father's estate beyond that which he could carry upon his back. From the start, it was destined that Lucas would need to find his own way in life. This was only emphasized when his two sisters were born. Lucas had planned to stay at home until it was apparent that it was time to leave. Sadly, when Jackson and Matthew both left to start their own careers, Lucas was out of time. Leaving his father bed ridden, he walked out of the house and headed for his new life.

Leaving Home

Lucas left his father's estate before turning eighteen. He was the last of his brothers to set out in search of adventure, and he didn't look far. He stayed in Perdan, following in his brother Jackson's footsteps. However, Lucas left Montauban, sending this letter ahead with his scribe Isaac to Duke ][osferatu:

Duke ][osferatu,

I have left my father's house to make a name for myself. I had hoped to wait at home for a bit longer, but events would not seem to have allowed that. My brother Jackson has set in motion many things in my family, and things have become unpleasant at home. I ask for but a portion of the income of your city, and a place to hang my cloak. I swear my sword in exchange for such gifts.

Comforting a Father

Lucas, feeling guilty for leaving his father at home without his three sons, answered the welcoming letters from his new colleagues with one of his own:

Lords and Ladies of Perdan,

It is my honor to quickly follow my brother into the service of Perdan. I regret that I am somewhat young, however, I believe it shall be no handicap. I look forward to fighting alongside many of you. Lasly, I ask that if any of you know of my father, please write him a letter of comfort. In just a few days time, he's lost three sons. Well, that is how he sees the situation at least. I thank any who do this service for me.
