The Cooper Family is low nobility from the East Continent. Their home estate is in the region of Montauban, currently a part of Perdan. The family consists of the parents Jack (M) and Brigid (F); the children Jackson (M), Matthew (M), Lucas (M), Ruth (F), and Meridith (F); and the son-in-law Richard (M). Jack is the fourth son of a fourth son descended from a long line of low nobility. The family boasts a well kept, if small, estate with an efficient workforce. Employed and housed on the estate include the maid, the cook, the house scribe, and the gardener.

The Parents

Jack Cooper stands five feet and seven inches, a full five inches taller than his wife Brigid. Both have earthy skin with a too-oily cast to it, and thick brown hair. Jack wears his hair cropped at his shoulders, often pulling it back in a style he saw on an exotic rug in order to impress at social functions. Brigid is plain looking, with hips almost too-wide for her station. In the social circle of the Coopers', it's a reoccurring rumor that Brigid is really a peasant whom Jack fell in love with and passed off as his cousin in order to attain permission to wed. When this rumor outlives its welcome, inevitably there surfaces one about Brigid being too close of a cousin for the marriage to be legal. From these rumors come sidelong looks at dinners. Coupled with the hair style of her husband, Brigid has suffered through many a sleepless night over analyzing the pettiness of her and her husband's role in society.

The Adventurers

Jackson

Jackson is the eldest of the Cooper sons. He studied economics with one of his father's merchant acquaintances during the famine in the south midway through his private education. He's well schooled in geography, theater, and poetry. Even though Jackson is a member of the nobility, he still enjoys getting his hands dirty, and periodically assists gardeners in their task. He even has his old economics tutor import exotic plants from time to time.

Matthew

Matthew is nine months Jackson's junior, though he could pass for his elder brother. Matthew spent time at the local recruitment centers training with the men-at-arms during all of his spare time. His father paid for tutors, as well as disciplinarians, to further Matthew's education. However, using the skills picked up from the fighters, Matthew always escaped to train with them. He has never expected much from anyone, knowing that Jackson will inherit their father's estate. Across the sea, to the continent of Atamara, Matthew sailed in search of glory.

Lucas

Lucas is the youngest son of Jack and Brigid. Being the youngest son, but not the youngest child, Lucas was oft overlooked in the social circle of his parents. He would receive nothing from his father's estate beyond that which he could carry upon his back. From the start, it was destined that Lucas would need to find his own way in life. This was only emphasized when his two sisters were born. Lucas had planned to stay at home until it was apparent that it was time to leave. Sadly, when Jackson and Matthew both left to start their own careers, Lucas was out of time. Leaving his father bed ridden, he walked out of the house and headed for his new life.
