The Lie of the Decade?
Supreme Justice, in Count Jon Paul’s letter to the Congress before he sacked our guild he presented us with the notification that he was charged 100 gold as a membership fee for the rank of Recruit. Here is that piece:

Your rank of Recruit in "Congress of Democracy" has to pay a monthly fee of 100 gold. Your balance with this guild has been adjusted accordingly.
I present to you a copy of the guild’s ranks as I set them up early in the guild’s life. Notice that in the rank of Recruit there is no number 100.

I cannot understand then how it was that Recruit Jon Paul was charged 100 gold if it clearly states here that he should only have been charged 3. The only answer I could reasonably think of is that he was lying. Could this be evidence that Count Jon Paul deliberately sought to destroy the guild? That when he was charged a monthly fee for the first time as a member of the guild he found his opportunity to strike us down? No noble can claim the death of a guild is a proportionate response to being charged 3 gold, or even 100. Here, however, Count Jon Paul has decided it to be so.
I believe he must be lying about the 100 gold fee when compared to the list of ranks installed in the guild. Worse of all, we are unable to view the rank list of the guild as it is now because the guild is no longer available. If by some accident, whether sabotage or witchcraft, the Recruit rank was indeed changed, Count Jon Paul cannot prove it. What he has proven is that he is unable to cooperate and that he is a nuisance to guilds everywhere. I loath to see what he does to the Elementalis Academy should his exams come up incorrect and he not make the grade to ascend the ranks.
