Tabby rode back towards Perdan. Her time away had allowed her to concentrate on what was really important to her. HEr Family, friends and the Church.

The spring morning had just begun, and the sun peeped from behind the hills to the east. Walking along rural paths and mountain roads all night had left Tabatha exhausted and she finally sat down for some rest. She crossed her legs and sat with one hand in the other, taking deep breathes every few seconds. she felt the energy inside her drain away, moving further up her body. Minutes later she could nothing but the morning breeze lightly flowing across her face and the sun beating stronger as it rose in the sky. This meditation had been used for centuries to help relax their body and help concentrate the Spirit energy within a person. The Spirit energy, sometimes known as Qi, was what some believed to be the energy that flows within the body, something that could be harnessed and controlled. She could feel it, collecting within her, like a school of fish, all moving in unison, becoming one entity. At that second the outside world disappeared, the heat from the sun and cooling from the breeze went, all external senses had been shut off. Hours had passed, but time no longer had authority here. She would stay until she was ready, her eyes remaining shut until she was sure she could protect everything that was dear to her.
