Xaero's patrol through Orombo's streets

Orombo is filled with monsters around the streets and the peasants get very scared seeing how they eat the people that couldn't run that fast towards home. Xaero sees it from his palast and decides he has to do something... He's only one men, but he can't permit that his people get eaten by undead without trying anything. There are 23 big monsters and more little beasts as evil wild dogs and giant bats hunting around the streets.

Xaero knows that monsters go in groups and allthough his demoniac power he would surely die after killing one, because other five would go towards him and, of course he wouldn't be able to fight them... They are really getting organized these damn monsters! But at least the minor beasts can be killed. They hunt also in groups, but they're beatable for well trained warriors.

Xaero dresses his battle suit and puts one dagger in each leg, his demoniac sword Soulstealer and a oriental sword in his back... a katana brought by ship from far lands as a present received a week ago from an old friend who also was once a monk and now has become a warrior.

Finally the count gets out of his palace and starts walking through the streets. They are desert but he knows they're not empty. There is a high posibility that he meets monsters... or that they meet him. He concentrates for a while and arrives to status in which he can notice if not human life is near him.

Suddenly his sixth sense tells him that a non human thing which is alive is coming towards him running very fast. First he frightens but then he sees that they are running too fast to be monsters, so they just can be wild dogs.

Xaero smiles and in the middle of the street he gets his sword Soulstealer out and wait till he sees the wild dogs he just noticed run towards him. In their eyes can be seen the evil... Finally some action... The first dog jumps in the air and with a quick movement Soulstealer cuts in two pieces the beast falling on both sites of the count. The other two, who were behind, stop running and decide to hunt together.

The sincronization of these undead beasts amazes Xaero, who wonders how the hell some beasts could be that intelligent. They seemed to be trained. Some months ago they were just the real monsters' puppies... Now they are trained hunting beasts... This is getting interesting...

Both dogs jump at the same time to different body parts of the demoniac monk. One is going to break Xaero's neck and the other one has jumped towards his stomach. Xaero jumps quickly towards the one who jumped to his neck passing below him. When the dog is still in the air he sticks his sword into the the dogs body making him a wound from his throat till the stomach. When the dog hits the ground he's already dead.

The third dog failed in his attack to Xaero's stomach and when he sees the other one dead near him he runs away. What the...? They were never that intelligent to consider fleeing as an option in combat... This damn monsters are evolutioning...

Xaero walks through the streets searching more beasts to kill, when finally he notices 5 undead coming towards him. He hides behind the half broken door of a tabern he used to visit. Carefully he looks towards the direction, from where he noticed his presence.

Damn! These are real monsters... I can't fight them... Oh men! They walk in formation... One behind for the rearguard and one in front for the vanguard, like human military patrols do... This is not instinct... something is happening with these monsters...

Finally he decides to hide in the tabern while he sees them walking along the streets. When they are far enough he tries to go out of the tabern, but something is moving in the tabern. Damn! With these monsters that near i couldn't distinguish the presence of this!

A bat, as big as an eagle, flies towards him and attacks quickly his hand, making his sword fall to the other side of the tabern. Quickly he recovers and gets both daggers from his legs out and throw them towards the beast. It's dark enough to have failed, but he hears how the thing falls to the ground.

Finally he gets both daggers again and walks carefully out of the tabern. He starts walking again through the streets and arrives finally home again.

With these monsters that well trained it's going to be difficult to beat them...
