Argent Order/History

The Argent Order, like many faiths has a vast history, most of which has yet to be touched by the members of the faith itself. Much of the Silver Tome remains untranslated, meaning there are many secrets within that have yet to be discovered. What is known is that the faith is very old, as many of the languages used within the Silver Tome are no longer in use. For ease of reading, information is organized in the way that starts off easiest, gradually introducing you to information.

Creation of the Faith

The faith itself was born primarily from General Relinon the Wise, after being annoyed by the constant preachings of priests in his time. He is said to have decreed, "Any priest that tries to convert me better be expecting a visit to the gallows!" It was shortly after that, it is believed, that he decreed himself an Argentist.

Sometime later, the Hero Alexius the Brave, a living legend of his time, joined General Relinon as the second Argentist--much to the annoyance of Relinon in fact. The two had been old friends, having grown up in the same estate. Relinon was noble born, his family having owned the estate, while Alexius was the son of one of the servants of the house. After proving his abilities as a regular infantryman, Alexius, surviving innumerable battles and saving the lives of several nobles in the process, married into a lower noble house.

It was not until several years later that Imperial Adviser Telani joined the faith, solidified the faith's ways, and eventually began preaching itself, becoming known as Telani the Silver.

Unlike the other faiths that cite divine intervention as their reason for belief, or perhaps a visions of a prophet that brought the first followers, the Argent Order relies on simpler things. The intricacies of the faith are simple, nothing is more complex than it needs to be. It is simple to grasp and understand, making it easier for the uneducated to see truth in.

The Silver Tome

The Silver Tome, as it is usually referred to as, is an account of the faith as a whole, it's words date as far back as the very creation of the faith itself. Each time a new Silver Archon was chosen to lead the faith, they would add a few chapters to the book before they stepped down. Of course, some Silver Archons lost their position before this could be done. The Second Silver Archon for example, was slain by forces of Chaos. When the pages were filled up, a new book would made, and the old one copied onto new pages. This has kept the words in decent condition, mostly free from the wear and tear of time and the elements.

The exact discovery of the Silver Tome in this age however remains unclear. Zanaras is said to have received it from an old friend of his, though he will not say who exactly this friend was nor any other information on the subject. What is clear however is that the book seldom leaves his side, though the notes he takes sometime find their way between temples of the Order. It is also not uncommon for full chapter translations to occasionally be dispersed to the other temples either.

Unlike most of the chapters that consist primarily of organized information and facts, some chapters tell a story of the faith. Chapters four and five of the Silver Tome for instance, tell of collapse of the Empire and the fight against Chaos as it happened during the time of the Third Silver Archon, Vesuvius.
