Laws of Arcaea

Greetings and welcome to Arcaea! We are a nation of honorable noble men and women who pride themselves on their sense of justice, mercy and chivalry. We consider it important that all nobles, no matter what their station in life, be given fair voice at all times. We do, however, expect this to be done in a manner befitting of a noble in which common courtesy and respect are shown to all, even our adversaries in times of debate. Failure to do so will result in punishment.

1. Looting: Permission is given to loot realms with whom we are at war, but only in terms of material possession such as gold or food. Strategic destruction of walls, roads, or military infrastructure is also allowed. Anyone found to be looting a realm with whom we are not at war shall be punished. Those who participate in rape/pillaging or burning of food shall be severely punished. This is not behavior becoming a noble. If in doubt, consult your Marshal or the Lord Protector if you are not a member of any army. However, there no looting should be conducted without explicit permission from the Military Chain of Command.

Allowed Stealing tax gold Stealing (not burning) food Damaging military infrastructure Damaging fortifications

Allowed only when specifically ordered Pillaging Damaging roads

2. Military Action: Under no circumstances shall military action be taken on behalf of the realm without the instruction of a Marshal. This can and does cause major diplomatic headaches for his Majesty, so pay attention! 2.1 Digging In: No noble is to dig in without permission in a region where battle is expected. Marshals will order the appropriate units to dig in at the appropriate times.

3. Decorum: All nobles shall maintain decorum and not insult other nobles, lieges or the council members. We are nobles and not peasants to resort to unsavory language. All nobles and lords are expected to use civil and polite tones with other members of the realm. If you feel you have been wronged by another noble, please approach the Imperial Magistrate or the liege of the one who has wronged you.

4. Religious Freedom: All nobles within Arcaea are free from religious persecution. Priests may preach freely, but the lord of that region retains the right to revoke that permission at any time with a two day grace period for departure. Tearing down temples, regardless of preaching permissions, is prohibited, including Sartanian and Magna Aenilia Ecclesia temples. Due to atrocities against Arcaea, The Order is an exception to this law, having no right to preach and no safety for its temples.
