Elantus Slain by ASI Scum

Lord Protector of the Realm, Royal Treasurer, Minister of the People, Duke of Riverholm, Arch Priest - by many titles was Elantus Shardblade known in life. A life that was ended this day by Shilock, an assassin in the employment of the Ash Sea Islands. Elantus met his challenger bravely, but the snake was quicker, and the mighty has fallen. Coming so soon after the death of Deschain Occam, it might seem as if Abington is beset by tragedy after tragedy with no hope. But death comes to us all; the enemy is not so faceless as that. In this case our enemy does have a face, and it is the face of ASI hypocrisy. Elantus has been killed, and nobles 'round the world mourn his passing. But Abington will live on, and Abington will remember.

Sacrifice

Deschain is not the only hero to die fighting for the Realm. Elantus is not the first to fall in defence of greatness. Nor will either be the last. Their sacrifice is remembered, and must be honoured. And yet it must be noted that our fallen comrades are not alone. Each and every day, the people of Abington fight, risking life itself, making the ultimate sacrifice. From the most noble to the lowest-borne, we must all make our sacrifices for the Realm. For many it will be life. For others, merely wealth, time, and energy. But we are united in our sacrifice, as we are united in glory. It is our sacrifices which make possible our glory, and which make inevitable our ultimate victory. Let no sacrifice be for nothing; let none fall in vain.
