Silesian is a family name in Vormion, Cagilan Empire. The family was started by Merthin. Although the name was first just a nickname (Merthin's homeland was called Silesia), it soon was accepted as a proper family name. The family was expanded when Caris Newell (Merthin's cousin) arrived in Atamara and took Merthin's nickname as her family name. Another member of the family, who also fled the Mongol invasion, found home in Dwilight
