Silesian Family/Caris
Caris, known as Silesian in Atamara, was born to a Celt knight. As the only child, she was raised as a boy. She learnt how to use a sword and a bow. She was also an excellent horse rider. When she was 16, her father arranged her marriage with Sir Winfred of Slough. Caris didn't however quite enjoyed the perspective of being married to an old and obese man. Having quite strong character and boy's training, she left her father a short note and secretly left her home. Fate brought her finally to Vornion in Atamara.
In Atamara
Soon after arriving to Vornion, she learnt that her cousin, Merthin was a newly knighted soldier in Cagilan army. Merthin was however heading into a war, so they could not meet. Caris was never afraid of taking life in her own hands. Soon after, she was made a Dame of Nida and became a vassal of the Duchess of Nida, Lady Renee Quasath.
When Nazgorn was restored to the Empire, Caris chose, with Lady Renee's blessing, to swear allegiance to Merlin Silverfire, the Viscount of Nazgorn. Unfortunately for her, Falasan soon won the province back and Caris was left without an estate. She was however determined to return to Nazgorn.
Career in Administration
Having lost her unit in a battle, Caris decided to change her main occupation and became a Courtier. She first helped to rebuild the newly won provinces of Nazia and Nazgorn. She also chose to be a Trader, but there was practically nothing to buy and sell, as the trade was effciently handled by the Banker of Cagilan Empire. The trading skills gained in CE proved useful when Caris joined a newly created realm of Coria. Being a mountainous land, Coria was in constant need of food. Caris put a lot of energy and resources into trading and became one of the major merchants in Coria. This was key to her appointment as Mistress of Scales, aka Banker of the realm.
Lordship
Caris always thought she would make a good region Lord. She ran in elections three times. Her bids for Ansalle and Nazia were unsuccessful, but when position in Galadia opened, Caris was a clear favorite, with strong support from her guild Imperial Movement and members of the Order.
Galadia was in very bad shape, having suffered from a long war between Cagilan Empire and Falasan, with non-existing production and very low morale and loyalty. The peasants of the mountainous region were quite stubborn and did not change loyalty easily. With the help of an army led by Lord Enri Kinsey and a number of Courtiers and priets from the Order, Caris managed to bring order within 3 weeks.
Military Highlights
Caris joined the Ered Luin Guardians, an army designated as the home guard of Cagilan Empire. The battles she fought were mostly against monsters or undead ravaging the plains of Cagil, with also a few fought in great war against Falasan. She was also active scouting and fighting monsters and undead in her own realm. In some cases she acted as a leader, organizing and encouraging fellow nobles. She made her name by sending very detailed scout reports. Besides the actual report, they contained a narrative summary of the situation, so the military leaders could get a quick overview, without the need to browse through the whole report. On more than one occasion she learnt about monsters in provinces, belonging to allied Carelia. She volunteered to go there and helped to get rid of monsters.
