It was early in the morning when Lady Gheros awoke from her slumber and headed to the temple of sartan. By the looks of it, the priests were awake from much earlier and preperations for the dawn sacrifice were underway.
The alter was bieng washed and adorned by flowers freshly plucked from the royal gardens.
The herdsmen brought in the magical beast that needed to be sacrificed. The beast was an impressive animal, with a body of the horse and the head of a bull.
The borse, as the herdsmen call it had been decorated for the sacrifice and it adorned a lot of floral garlands.
Tying the beasts legs and securing its head - the beast was ready for sacrifice.
Lady Gheros sarted mumbling and chanting verses in praise of sartan in a language unknown to many.
She then proceeded to gently skewering the animal with long swordlike shears and when blood colored the floor sanguine - in a swift movement of her hand she dismembered the head from the rest of the body.
Soaked in blood, she picked the head of the beast and proceeded to place it before Sartan, the god of war.
Kneeling before Sartan she gently spoke to him, Lord,
Today marks the last day of the festival in honour of you, may you forever smile benevolently over us.
As soon as she finished he short speech, the children of sartan quickly surrounding her proceeded to cascade water from the top of her. The water clensed her body and any remanants of blood were washed away.
The sky had turned a deep orange and the dawn looked magical, Lady Gheros proceeded to the steps of the temple and announced, Greetings Nobles of Sartania and the rest of the far-east,
Today marks the last day of our festival, we finish the festivities with a swordfighting tournament. Along with the honour and prestige that will be won here today, there is also gold to be won!
