Nicolas Chenier has been offering his views once again?

Aye, let me see....this should be entertaining. Just to make sure I understand this correctly: Riombara wrongly executes a member of Enweil. We sentence our judge to exile. Enweil executes a member of Riombara and tortures several while not even feigning remorse.

Well obviously we are the despicable ones and need to be made war against. What were we thinking? We simply need to accept that Enweil may execute and torture anytime they feel the urge to do so while the return is a grave crime that needs a declaration of war. Perfectly logical so far. Treating Lord Handkor honourably while he recently graced our dungeons after the Enweilian defeat in Kuugl surely marked a low point in Riombaran despicability - that needs to be paid back by torture as soon as possible.

Not to mention that Enweil is entirely honourable when holding referendums on who to attack while being at peace. Makes for very comfortable neighbourly relations and of course said neighbours have no reason whatsoever to feel a bit put out.

So far I can follow Cheniers reasoning...but I still have a little difficulty understanding how first guaranteeing a realm aid if it should be attacked by a third party, then attacking the realm you guaranteed independence jointly with said third party is honourable. But I am sure that worthy Nicolas has found a very reasonable reason and I am just too feebleminded to grasp it.

But I especially like how Enweil 'handed Kuugl to Alluran'. Having the peasantry tell the Enweilian region commander 'Terribly sorry, guv'ner but we kinda prefer Alluran counts' certainly marks Enweilian generosity as paramount.

So all in all I do now understand the generosity and honour Enweil shows when attacking realms, torturing nobles and burning down cities. It admitedly took me a bit of effort but it was certainly worth it.

Enweilian line of defense broken

Rh.png

Many a battles and events have occurred in the South during the last week.

First, the Enweilian raiding army approached the Islands and seriously threatened the fragile twin cities of Rines and Athol Margos. After passing the peasant barrier the Enweilian hordes have even dared to enter the gothic city of Rines. However, the Riombaran reaction was swift and merciless, and their retribution precise. This has resulted in several battles in both Cjelegy and Rines and the defeat of Enweilian raiding force with little or no casualties for Riombara.

Soon after that the Riombaran military initiative to form a second army has been realized. The Sunrise Duke of Irombro, His Majesty Carmelo Riina, has founded the army which goes under the name of Celeres and represents the elitist part of Riombaran nobility. His Grace Duke Ercole D'Este of Athol Margos has been appointed as a Marshal, while Viscount Sir Tristan Gryphonheart of Cjelegy has been chosen to serve as a Vice Marshal. The high esteem the Celeres boast themselves with still needs to be proved, although the next couple of days have revealed that having a second army would prove to be useful.

After losing Kuugl sometime in between these events, the Enweilian imperialists have mounted a takeover of the aforementioned region which eventually succeeded. However, Riombara was quickly rallied in Mio Dupaki determined not to give their nemesis much time to consolidate their forces. A battle of Kuugl commenced with the first rays of light, and after a couple of hours of intense fighting the victory has been taken by Enweil by the tip of the sword. However, to the surprise of Enweilian invaders there was more to that day then it was first thought. With the sun slowly diminishing at the horizon the Dominion of Alluran charged in over the hills of Bym to fight off Enweil from a region that was rightfully a Dominion's province. During the following day the peasants of Kuugl saw another strange conflict happening as the Enweilian imperialists hid their routed troops in the woods, thusly throwing the battlefield into mayhem as the Riombaran and Dominion's troops assaulted each other by mistake. Such acts of cowardice of Enweilian commanders further infuriated the Dominion's leaders which resulted in a official declaration of war against Enweil. After establishing a firm peace on the fields of Kuulg, both Dominion and Riombara were eager to charge off Enweil back to Lopa. Sunrise on the Lopanian fields saw another bloody battle as the Enweilians have been utterly defeated for the first time in quite a while, and the line of defense of their southern front was broken.

News have reached the Riombaran military council that the forces of Hetland have likewise routed another Enweilian army, and the scout reports from the Enweilian northern flank reveal great trouble that has beset Enweil as their regions in that area are in terrible condition. With Dominion's appearance in the war the South seems united to repel the imperial forces and the northern news likewise foretell good development. The flanks of Enweil appear to be overrun, their military command in disarray and their nobles in panic before the hammer of justice. With his blunt claws the imperial behemoth's hide has crumbled, and his fall appears to be forthcoming.

Enweilian attacks Alluran
